Now, imagine you can do anything with the way this game looks, but CAN`T change anything that affects the game system (no changes to ships, battles, fedwars etc). That you can change the packaging and the packaging only. Add nifty tools, change skins and templates, tweak it a bit or merge it with some other system. And - you have to always remember that - only some of other players will embrace those changes together with you.
That`s how designing a user-side game extension look like, be it a js userscript or a mozilla extension.
Now, you`ve also seen an example of what can be done.
Use your imagination.
I invite you to post here any wish that fits the above mentioned criteria, however unlikely it might seem.

Add a link in the rankings to flag an empire as either ally, fed enemy or personal enemy. Then use a color code to display these empires differently depending on the flag, eg bright red for personal enemies, deep red for fed enemies, green for allies, etc. You could also fetch the members of the feds you`re at war with, so they could be flagged automatically.
Fed enemies would be stored on a remote server, so if you flag an empire as fed enemy the whole fed will see him as such. Maybe only fed leaders and "trusted members" (status given by the leader) should be allowed to flag fed enemies. |

Perhaps incorporating download-able tools pertaining to spacefed (giving credit to their original creators, of course) would be nice too. |

99+ day(s) ago | well, something that would help newcomers to the game would be nice. People are always asking what ships are good vs what.
Now i`ve been here long enough to remember that tool in the artifacts website where you can put in a fleet, and then it would give you a web page of how many ships it would take to wipe out the remaining stack, along with the casualties you would suffer.
And it would do this for aggressive, normal, and careful attacks. I`m sure you (anfit) and some older players would know what I`m talking about. For whatever reason, it`s been disabled.
Would be nice if this was brought back and incorporated somewhere in the site...... |
