I think that stephen should make it so that when virals have he pyth and angel, they have an upkeep that is around the same as a nirvana dreadnaught. Marauders need the low upkeep to go high... virals dont and its just being abused.
Unfortunately, stephen doesnt do anything, and this will never happen.

a viral is basically a maru that can hold planets. If someone rebalance upkeep, will not be any reason to play a paid race as viral. versus terran, viral have less income modifiers and 3 cols less. viral also have *3 (terran,miner) and *6(maru) modifier when build a ship. the lose of power of chirons and borrellys (range) has been important.
it`s true that viral is still one step above, but if upkeep is rebalanced, viral will be 1 steps under terran, why pay for this then? |

U want to know why i only have 40 planets? coz i do not know how to stack higher & better than viral. also dont have such income to do so. Give terran these cheap & powerful ships then i will let u know i also want to get 100 planets. |

i mean you can just infect and cluster then the planet gets protected as it is clustered and drops all the way down far below the borders but we have to find ourselves some borders to cover up. and most of the times we have to plunder previous borders first |

Hellus 99+ day(s) ago | In fact I havn`t missed the point all, i was just discussing your pt about the planet counts; i am just saying that alot of the other races don`t care about their planet counts due to the fact that they don`t need them to have a high income but virals do. In order for a commercial viral to have over a 3 mill income they need over 64 planets unless they have alot of research done. Yes having the pyth and angels does at a low upkeep obvious helps, but thats not the main reason why so many more have higher planet counts. The main reason for that is economics in my own personal opinion. |

i have been thinking that there is something like class type for ships where ships in the class cannot overshoot some things.
like...
fighters have highest build rates able to dodge projectile damage very well.
beam damages are area of effects so can catch these small little mosquitoes
missles pwn these mosquitoes cos they are homing
tiny mosquitoes have 1 range only 1:1 hull to PR and damage to PR
corvettes are bigger fighters so they have higher range of 3 but lower damage to PR and higher hull to PR
frigates are defensive shields so they should have the highest hull to PR ratio
they act like 1/10th of a cruiser but with more hull than the cruiser and lesser damage than them
destroyers should have the highest ranges highest damage lowest hull for their type
cruisers all have 1-3 less range than the same type destroyer lesser damage and more hull
battleships have 1-3 less range than cruisers but more damage and more or same hull as cruisers
dreadnaughts should have high damage lower than destroyers higher than cruisers but upkeep higher than the cruisers. they should also have multi damage as they are too big to not-smartly specialise on 1 damage type.
starbases have insane hull, crab damage. upkeep? i am not sure
scanner rating should be 0 and do nothing to aid in exploration cos they too big to explore.
jaggernaughts should have at least 3 damage type and damages like a battleship and armour like a cruiser
that is all i can think about.

Think 99+ day(s) ago | According to the manual, the upkeep/power ratio for a Pyth is 750/22527 = 0.033 and for a Nirvana it is 22000/18030 = 1.220. So the upkeep for a Nirvana spam is 36.65 times higher (and takes 25% more turns) than for a Pyth spam. That seems to explain why I`m repeatedly getting "foddered" by 100`s of Pyth`s. |

But LYTH?!?!? You`re crazy. The Lyth upkeep is what it is because it is for the richest race in the game. If that same ship were used by terrans, it would have less upkeep than the hercules, because quite frankly, it isucks compared to any of the heavy ships terrans have.
As well, virals make less cash than terrans or a.miners. A standardized upkeep for each ship chassis would be nice... failing that, perhaps a standardized upkeep of 0.7*PR to 0.75*PR would be acceptable.
Truly, though, upkeep being standardized to CHIP CHASSIS is fair.
Dreadnoughts: 1*PR
Juggernaughts: 0.75*PR
Battleships: 0.75*PR
Destroyers: 0.65*PR
Cruisers: 0.7*PR
...etc. |
