GrumpyOldMan 2019-01-21 | | Market Fix | | Smaller empires cant under sell bigger empires on some servers anymore and this is because all player selling are treated equally.
Anyways i wanted to propose a LAND BASE, means the player total land is used to determine a newbie producer vs a mass producer.
Lets say player has less than 10k land.... they can sell food as lower than mass food producing empires. I think this could apply to Consumer goods & minerals as well.
Sad that a mass producing empires can prevent newbie empires from growing & this is yet another reason why we have a harder time keeping new players, because we dont keep them in mind more often. |

Asmodean 99+ day(s) ago | It isnt. Fat fingers and a tiny phone will do that. It was in regards to the Igor suspension thread. |
GrumpyOldMan 99+ day(s) ago | @Asmodean, WTF man, how is that related to this forum post of a market fix? |
Asmodean 99+ day(s) ago | I went over the character limit. Here is the link to Guide role:

Asmodean 99+ day(s) ago | I would like to take a moment and go over a few little aspects of this game that seem to have been misunderstood, or not followed, or simply ignored.
Firstly, the role of the various levels of game staff have gotten a bit cloudy, as some staff do things they wouldnt normally do, or the game population misunderstands a staff memeber`s role.
The game has a vague explanation of staff roles but unfortunately it focuses primarily on the Game Guide, and what one must do to become one. The second URL will take you to that page.
So the Guide, wrapped in all its ambiguity, has the following role: Answer questions in chat and forum. That, and nothing else beyond being online. Now what answers are allowed? Well, going back years and years, these are typically gameplay questions and have nothing at all to do with admin level items, such as the topic of this thread.
That said, a few of us have gone above and beyond at times, always to help take the load off Admins and help reassure and sooth the game population. Unfortunately, this is not the role of the Guide. The Guide helps guide players through the game. They typically do not have powers such as Silence. That role is reserved for Admins and...
Moderators are a step above Guide. They typically fill a Guide role if one is not present, but also have forum and chat powers. They can edit thread posts, and silence ne`erdowells. They are those who enforce the game rules. This brings us to...
Admins. By now you should all be aware of what an Admin can do. Not all Admins can do all things. BadWolf is basically God in this game and can do anything she wants as she has complete control. There are Admins below who can do some things but not everything. A typical function is email validation, compensation for bugs and errors, name changes, investigations, and other non-gameplay tasks.
Link 1 is Rules.

EnderWiggin 99+ day(s) ago | That`s a solid idea too Baa. Maybe have it be 2 for food so it still discourages it. |
Baa 99+ day(s) ago | could add the option to sell to BM aswell...?
example
min food price is 4
sell to BM at 3
min mineral price is 100
sell to BM for 99 |
GrumpyOldMan 99+ day(s) ago | well i think someone of you got what i said wrong.... but doesnt matter
@Raistilin idea would work better, from a coding point of view much easier to apply & it would work. |
Carnage 99+ day(s) ago | I`m confused why the new player is going Agri when food is at minimum price |
Tranq 99+ day(s) ago | Raists idea is really good. |
Asmodean 99+ day(s) ago | I like raists idea better actually. |
Foulsham 99+ day(s) ago | Everyone obviously missed my thread about this month`s ago....anyway I agree should be land size |
Raistilin 99+ day(s) ago | Why not set it based by empire age instead. New empires have `market protection` for X number of days (30/60/90) where their posts will show as the first to be purchasable even at the same price points as older posts.
Lets look at it a bit further too, maybe add some benefits to being in a Fed besides being smacked from higher pr than usual. Set it so that if you`re in a Fed, your market postings are bought first before other empires.
Example - Empire A posts 10k food at 4, and it promply gets swamped by all the other posts at the same price. Empire B, fedmate of A goes to buy 2b food because they a fatty and want some comfort food. When the process goes through, the purchase order shows as 10k to the fedmate, followed by the remaining 1,999,990,000 from the top-most market posting. |
TheBlueKnight 99+ day(s) ago | Its only this way because of caps. If there was no caps the newbies could always undercut the bigger empires on price by -1 or more. Supply and demand would determine the price not us mega food producers who risk billions of dollars of lost food everytime we post a stack due to limited storage. |
Asmodean 99+ day(s) ago | That`s what hes saying. If he sells food at 4 each, and he has 100k land, my little newb empire with 10k land can also sell at 4 each. And mine would always appear in front of his.
This would NOT work if he sold at 4 and I sold at 5. It applies only to posts offered at the same price. |
{DrKsT}gUaRdIaN 99+ day(s) ago | So what your stating is that by "Land mass" the empire with the smallest amount of land will have priority in selling on the market even if at current market value? |
