The Gordo Land Fix - ( Ideas )

Make some logical arguments, try not flame, berate or harass other players ideas.

Some ideas will be good, some meh, some bad, some horrible.

This has always been a difficult subject for those who have massive planet sizes vs those who dont. Seriously how can we make it all fair ???

This is mainly a GC / RT problem not turn based.

I changed my mind after reading more and talking to people. This would be a good solution and it has my support. STILL WANT MORE INCENTIVES FOR FIGHTING and ALL RACES CONTRIBUTING TO MARKET!

You would have to give C3`s massive production bonuses.

At that point youre also not balancing the game, youre just creating massive inflation.

Also, wish people would stop commenting without looking at the actual formulas proposed. Nobody is being slapped in the face.

You never want to slap your player base of all these years in the face by making all their work useless, you want to incentivize more activity instead and especially if the battle / fighting area of the game. Rewarding us further for clicking mindlessly on artifact digs is not the answer. Maybe change the recipe for gordo to include an artifact you can only get from winning battles.

Do not implement land based exploring. The whole game is balanced around trying to maximize land/planet ratio. Instead just buff the clusters and make them worth fighting over and then slight nerf to the fertile

Brief idea, why not add scaling to the planet/colony mods based on excessive land size. If a single planet (Fert as example) goes about say...50k then the planet mod starts to drop by a large portion. Eventually it`d be counter productive to continue gordoing the colony. Same could apply for C1 and C2`s, if the land value goes well beyond what would be considered a normal range, the mods could start to drop.

Flip side should be increased mods for clusters that go beyond what an explorable empire can handle. Would simply give another bonus to people who play a risk/reward playstyle.

I was just saying that if a race that has food as their main source of income has one or more huge gordo`d Ferts, it would be unbalanced. Never said anything in my last post about exploring other than voting for idea #3. I said what I said since CounterCrazy seems to think this is singling empires like his out (assuming he is tax Guard).

any normal game 99% of the time people wouldnt even have input, u either play what the devs put out or dont play at all, your lucky you even get a say in the matter at all

@Assass you noticed that too, huh? Lol

I do not see how land based exploring affects collective at all. Let`s throw maru in for good measure too xD

I agree with Ren. Toxic attitudes are what have kept the majority of changed from happening. These changes are literally a decade or more overdue.

"This is the lifestyle i chose. You wanna change my lifestyle to unexplorable i quit GC. "

It`s exactly this type of attitude that has prevented any sort of changes from occurring in the past. What makes you think you deserve to be completely unbalanced? You didn`t even put nearly as much time in as other folks who weren`t lucky enough to kill GY. If you honestly think it`s ok for empires to have infinite income and still be able to explore borders in 30 seconds, I don`t think anyone here can help you, and maybe I can refer you to a therapist depending on where you live? Drop me a PM.

+1 for idea #3

I played as an agri Guard years ago on RT before the ship changes, and I did fine. Didn`t gordo anything. Not seeing why people argue that gordo`d land is a necessity for Guards. It`s not just Guards though, gordo`d Ferts for Terrans or Colls can be a problem, or gordo`d Larges, C2s, or Edens for other income streams.

EvilBaa, it`s only land based if your total average land per planet is greater than 1750. If your average land per planet is 1800, you will barely notice a difference. If your average land per planet is 20 (or anything less than 1750) explore will work the same as it does now.

@Badwolf, if were making the PR formula land based then mineral miner is going to have to be changed to land based .. i have a formula if u require 1 ?

As I can personally verify, not many who are large taxers.

Is it the food market or the lack of a large taxer?

Im not necessarily disagreeing with you, I just dont know who is actually buying food these days.

If the current food market doesn`t show we need a major nerf to agri empires/ferts I have no idea what would.
