  Update, Gameplay/gordo fix?  

So i had this idea for a Galactic council that could possibly add some game play and fix the gordo problem that certain people complain about.

i suggest that the top 8 empires with the most planets on each server (or just RT?) get a seat on the council and receive certain bonus effects and negative effects to their empire. All other empires on the server will need to contribute a council tax which will be added to the galactic tax pot (total viewable on important events) say for example 1% turn tax and 1% market transaction tax, better % would have to be worked out.

gains 3% of pot per turn
does not give out counters
+10% more artifacts
+3% more hull on ships

Rank 1 Possible Negatives

can be attacked from 145% normal 215% fed war
-10% to exploring

----------------------
Rank 2,3,4 Possible bonuses

gains 2% of pot per turn
does not give out counters
+7% more artifacts
+2% more hull on ships

Rank 2,3,4 Possible Negatives

can be attacked from 140% normal 210% fed war
-8% to exploring

Rank 6,7,8 Possible bonuses

gains 1% of pot per turn
does not give out counters
+5% more artifacts
+1% more hull on ships

Rank 6,7,8 Possible Negatives

can be attacked from 135% normal 205% fed war
-5% to exploring

All Other Empires

Positive effects

+20% exploring
+10% more land and ore
+5% better chance of U class
+2% Weapons on ships

Negative effects

1% turn tax
1% market transaction tax

obviously there could be a lot more positive and negative for either side which would all need to be balanced of course and every 1 will want a seat on the council, but overall this would reduce the advantage with gordoing and help promote fighting and planet hording and possibly increase market activity at the same time please post if you like the idea or have any ideas to add to it, maybe BW or EE will read and consider this idea

all the numbers, possible negs and positives were thing i just thought up on the spot, theres lots of way this could be done :/ too much criticism for anything to happen it seems :/

evil do u mean rank one to 8 in top planets or rank 1 to 8 overall for attacking just to be clear as outside the top 5 you can already attack minus 300 percent -_-

I Think this is a great idea! Especially for fast where one fed would have almost all speak spots on the council... And it just happens to be my fed :-)

Let`s get more of these things favoring the dominant feds on TB!

PS: just to clarify - yes I`m joking.

Is this the answer i dunno. But i like this more than a flat land bonus on the act of clustering. Defending ur stuff takes effort and time. Not the act of clustering

I see an issue with the council, Not that I don`t think it is a good idea. But there is lack of active players, if this game had anywhere from 80-100 peeps active, Having council would be interesting. But having only 15-22 peeps on during peek hours isn`t going to be beneficial not being able to attack each other. Think one big fed gets in the top 8.they would hold all the spots, also means a form control

2 questions about this for clarity sake:
1) I think singling this to RT isn`t right, nor do I think some of the negatives make sense if they are planet hoarders would not be even able to explore.
2) The benefits of not being in the top 8 for some outweigh the cons and honestly don`t think it would entice more people to want to planet hoard.

Lastly, I see this more of a challenge for some races over others and don`t think the top 8 empires with most planets is the best approach given I could restart and make a 400 planet a. miner account in 2-3 weeks and take the top seat, while my tax guard it would be super tricky to get that big.

to help promote people to collect more planets rarther then gordoing and why not the top planet empires, its something to work towards i suppose or if your low planets your more likely to fight these high planet empires to take there position, and reason behind the fed idea you had syn because every 1 would just make a fed and receive the bonuses thus nulling the update completely, i mean you could add it so none of the top 8 planet horders could attack each other as there on the same council, this would make uws more entertaining too

Okay. Thoughts:

Why the people with the most planets? How about the leaders and their 2nd in commands? The feds represent RT and the time based are pretty lopsided.

Why make these guys stronger with the add-ons and effects? I see the negatives as well, just curious.

And lastly, what power would the council have on the servers?
