  Minerals RT

I don`t know if this is bad, or not. But I think everyone should try to restrain themselves when buying minerals. Buying the whole stacks just because you have the money, is not good for the smaller empires that get starved of minerals. It shouldn`t be a race.. Maybe try to buy at most, 50% of a stack, when the stack is above 50k?

Can we increase the cap on food and goods possible.

Cg`s are just completely useless right now, i buy them whenever i see them just to try and support the CG producers and i have more cash than i can possibly spend. I`m a tax miner who has roughly 30 bil food stored on the market currently because i can`t do anything else.

And my empire is only a couple weeks old, so imagine a tax miner with an empire of one year or older.

With that said, i`m a tax miner complaining about having too much money. i get it, it sounds ridiculous.

Im arguing both sides... its a valid point that CG price cap could be increase to, say, 10 or so. It would help store them and almost guaranteed they wont sell. Probably the only way they would sell like that is if someone wanted to burn credits or didnt know how they work for their economy.

That, or increase the storage cap to more than 2bil.

I believe for Miner taxers food is profitable to ~37. Food producers can post above that so that they can save their stock for when they need creds. CG producers are forced to sell their stocks *only* at a value which is profitable for taxers. Doesn`t make sense, and it`s the reason (coupled with the absurdly low income as compared to most other econs) that I`m the only one that provides CGs for the entirety of RT. I`m confused as to whether or not we`re arguing here, EW :P I thought you disagreed with me but that last post seems to agree with me.

Food quits being profitable at 20 (?) Its up in there somewhere. Cap is at 40. Used to be 100. Maybe low end price should be locked at 5 or 6. Makes no sense selling lower than that.

Stargaters: "Honestly, the biggest problem is that there are too many people with too much money and nothing to spend it on, and too few other people to balance it out."

I agree. 10/10

Why does that logic apply to CGs but not to food? Food isn`t profitable after a certain point, but we`re still allowed to post it on the market at those prices. I`m not saying that people will buy it at 6, I`m saying I want to post it at 6 because I don`t have the means to store the amount of goods I make otherwise and it doesn`t make any sense that I`m not allowed to hold my CGs at unprofitable prices so that I have higher reserves, especially when the food market allows this.

Cg price rising to, say, 6 or 7 would make sense, only if they sell to your pop at 7 or 8 respectively. Quite a large boost for tax income, especially for guards. Instead of my 30-something percent more income, itd go to like, 40 or more.

Yeah, I`m going to have to agree that I *really* don`t think bots are the solution to this problem, and I don`t really like the idea of them at all. Honestly, the biggest problem is that there are too many people with too much money and nothing to spend it on, and too few other people to balance it out. If we`re going to make anything "level based" (such as a separate market for newer players), it would just make sense to have ship credit/upkeep/min cost requirements rise as your empire gets better. Another option is to lower storage, so that people hit max creds faster and are required to spend them fighting or lose them.

The CGs @ 5 complaint is getting a bit boring to read over and over - look, you can hold 2 bil food, that`s usually ~20 bil credits. You can hold 2 bil minerals, which is around 2 tril credits. Yet, with CGs if I hold 2 bil that`s only 10 bil credits if they sell at 5, and right now I can`t even store them on the market because they get bought within an hour even at 5. Either CG storage needs to go up or the price needs to go up so that people can actually store their extras, just like food, ore, mins.

The NPCs that BW is working on are supposed to help with the market issue... being fully automated, theyll provide targets as well as actual mineral bots... this would take the human element out of it making it able to be full time. That way, only one person needs to be available to maintain them if one acts screwey.

This is all my own speculation on the subject so dont take it literally.

we need a new arti.... -99% of targets random mineral

that was worded wrong. Not their job right, but in essence we have an empty market. I realize that the economy should work by it`s self in a sense. But I think we need a blackmarket like UC`s, where if there is even one person playing its possible to still survive.

well thats true but at the same time, we should be concerned because we have new players who quit because noone is doing their job right.

I saw we should have a market for newbs that cannot be bought out by other players.. Untill they get a certain level then they can`t buy from it either.

As a mineral miner, you shouldnt be picky who you sell to. Is money ^^

The state of the market is really hurting new players/small empires =s

Yea. No minerals to be found, food is crazy cheap, CGs at 5 just arent profitable... market has never been in better shape.
Its a cycle. Eventually someone will get bored and start shoving minerals to the market, or break the food prices again...
Its what you have to deal with when you have so few people playing.
Maybe if the market were made to span all servers (an intertalactic market, heh), there may be some kind of positive effect..
Mompy would definitely have a hard time then :P
