TheBlueKnight 2015-03-11 | | Slavery VM versus Cluster VM | | I just found out today that I was set at 1500 power for a brief period of time because I VM`d 24 hours after I enslaved someone and that person could not get free on their own. I`m not trying to flame or stir up anything in the forum; however, I don`t understand how this is different than the practice of winning clusters or being low on borders and VMing. I was out of DP for over 24 hours before I Vmed.
Anyway no biggie just strange \**/ |

Brotherhood 99+ day(s) ago | Yes, yes it would EE. Thats the only problem ive ever had with it. Counters should freeze if player enters VM while the counter is active. I kniw that its not possible, but would be fair change. To me, thats the cowardly part of VMing after spamming half the server and dodging whats desiged to be the repercussions. |
EPrussia 99+ day(s) ago | recent jealousy-fueled your a laugh lol ender wiggan your a coward pure and simple I have held over 700 planets on RT for months so why would i be jealous :O n00b |
EphemeralEternity 99+ day(s) ago | Furthermore wouldn`t it be a better argument that expiration on counters against person who VMs be put on hold until their VM ends. |
EphemeralEternity 99+ day(s) ago | VM gives enslavers the pleasure of the hunt again, so for that you are welcome, everyone knows the thrill is in the kill, not sitting in a chair counting coins |
BlackHole 99+ day(s) ago | Yep. This was aimed at me, which is fine. If he had atayed out of vm i would have built up, but if the game says someone that vms can be put at 1500 pr and slaves freed why not use it?
Slavers should be hittable by those they attack. Why shouldnt i be allowed to hit the not-smart that enslaved me? :P |
duckduckbrick 99+ day(s) ago | you don`t need to explain yourself to anybody, mate. this post was aimed at blackhole. you won planets fair and square and as you said in the other post, you won 9 borders before you vmed so the cowardly act argument is completely non-applicible. enjoy the insane amount of land you now command :P |
EnderWiggin 99+ day(s) ago | Seeing as I seem to be somewhere near the center of the most recent jealousy-fueled drama to stir up some activity on these forums, I`ve posted my thoughts on the whole matter in Opvs`s post. |
duckduckbrick 99+ day(s) ago | i`d like to point out the filter said tough up, not me. i used a slightly more crude expression but got a laugh out of the euphemism xD |
duckduckbrick 99+ day(s) ago | if somebody vms after winning something tasty they have to have protected it for 24 hours anyway so they have managed to border it or win defensively. but all it does is delay the inevitable. everybody knows they`ve got it and as soon as their vm expires they will be targeted from probably more people than those immediately aware of their win.
of course the flip side to this is that they can just vm for more than 7 days and come out with their free 24 hours to hit a base pacifist guardian or the like. one might argue this is a fair tactic because they sacrifice a week of playing and still aren`t guaranteed protection, others might argue it`s a cowardly tactic. personally, i feel that if you are an experienced player it falls under the latter.
as far as being enslaved, tough top. unless your master is higher than 120m pr therefore making it impossible you should build strafez and accept that your defensive fleets aren`t up to scratch. |
BlackHole 99+ day(s) ago | I dislike both, and i wish both was not allowed.
On one hand, those that enslave and vm deserve to be set at 1500 pr so ppl can free, for example, hiding at 30 mil where noone can hit you, no thanks. Noone would build to 300mil to get rid of a vm`er.
Yet those that vm after winning a big c3 or a big fert whatever is equally as annoying, its almost as if it should be taken or returned or deleted, if you vm after taking a big cluster then your just taking it so noone else can have it not because you can make use of it. |
