  Quitting Smoking

I`m 27 and have smoked for 10 years. I stopped alcohol and drugs 3 years ago, but was still dependent on smoking, since I was 24 I have spent months on and off cigarettes. Never done more than 2 months and 3 weeks.

I have given up for 12 days cold turkey and have been getting cravings like a b****. Anyway I`m not here to preach, but I did come across this website while looking for stuff to read about cravings.

If you smoke or are thinking of quitting some of these stories will bring tears to your eyes. I`m going to bed happy to be smoke free :)

Good luck DP! I never smoked, but I might have to adjust my alcohol intake one of these days.

Good Luck Cheeseman tobacco is definitely the tough one to beat, I smoked from the time I was 10 until I was 35, which was about 3 months before I started playing this game, its been ten years now smoke free, I literally willed my way to quitting, if you put your mind to it you can do it, you just hafta want it bad enough , Best of luck to you

I`m 2.5 years smoke free myself. I quit cold turkey and I know how the cravings go. Mine was the worse when I was out drinking, then after eating. My advice is gum and straws. not nicotine gum either. when you get a craving or not. I found chewing on either one limited the cravings and after 3 weeks I was good. after 3 months I never had another craving again. Stay strong DP. Your lungs will thank you and you`ll smell a hell of a lot better!!

Almost everyone quit smoking about the same time when I started at my new job. It helps to have people you see every day going through the same thing to help you stay accountable and strong. Don`t know if it helps any, but it`s an idea.
