That`s Stephen physics for ya. It`s like Stephen math, except you need a PHD in Science Physics Fiction Writing, another PHD in all things ice cream, and a very vague understanding of Java and Website design from around the 2002 era of the Internets (back when the internet really was a series of plumbing tubes, not unlike the means of transportation for Mario...but that is an entry for another topic for the Hitchhiker`s Guide to the Internet).

I think its because GC is happening in a parallel universe. In this universe matter is not atoms as we know it, and the physical explanations are different there. ;)

Or just because Stephen is not that educated within physics.
