There`s not much to say here besides the fact I`ve finally decided that the giant 1k planet viral empire has run it`s course..
Now i`m not someone with a lot to say to begin with so this`ll probably be very short indeed. Now i`m sure a lot of you have mixed opinions of me and have only really seen me in recent years, Fact is i have more than once fought, lost, and regained clusters.. it`s the circle of life in GC at least it was.. Things have changed in my opinion, and i don`t feel it`s my place to say if those changes were for the better or worse given my own opinions on things, a lot of the soul for GC especially for me was with hoarding, risk vs reward, and the fun involved with it all.. In my opinion things have changed drastically from that, no longer are we at a place where hoarding at risk gives you an edge income wise against people who can explore, or even have less planets than you..
The way things are now in my opinion, and i`m personally sorry if anyone disagrees.. is just a matter of having the best gordoed empire, building it up and using that to be able to compare to everyone.. So yes i have been frustrated with GC often to the point I`ve felt like i no longer had a place here.. I`ve held onto 500,000-850,000 land with max infrastructure, and a steady income from this due to being commercial.. Now commercial is one of the lowest income paths yes, but an 850,000 land comm viral is barely comparable to a guardian who can explore in income vs upkeep... It`s been frustrating.. even at times disheartening.. People agree that guardians, are fine and frankly i can see their points to be had which is why i ignored things and pressed on..
But anyway moving forward.. I have to say one thing. When tribal moved into GC, and did the things he did.. You all spoke up, You called him out, And you made dang sure your voices were heard loud and clear.. In seeing that i started to remember the reasons why i was here.. It`s why we all kept pushing for control of GC, for the good of GC..In that moment i also decided on a few things..
Sometime later tonight, or tomorrow i`m going to be plundering all of my C3`s to allow me to be able to explore, The reason for this is so i can take a more active role in GC without having to deal with the stress of these C3`s which aren`t even important to me anymore, And that they really were of no actual use to me anyhow.. Having to spend every bit of cash i ever got a chance to make just to try to ensure i wasn`t annihilated by people who can, even still most of the time do it for a fraction of what i even was able to make and use in the first place..

99+ day(s) ago | Most just sit... I`d be among the few that would still play, but targets would be so limited I`d be relying on those who can explore to get back up. I doubt enough would still be around for me to ever recover fully as maru =( Would be interesting to see though. |

Though a leveled playing field may spur new-player retention and activity, the amount of veteran players that would up and quit is incalculable. Granted, how many of those vets actually play is somewhat debatable... Either sitting in VM, or like me, in NP.
That idea is a dead horse that was beaten to it`s component atoms ages ago, however. |

I couldn`t agree more. When I think back five, ten years, the differences in colony strategy is staggering. Good to see you back though, brother. Not that I`m exactly "here", myself. |

99+ day(s) ago | Gordo`d planets take forever and plus research. I`ve never had the diligence to sit and explore artis like others personally. I don`t have the patience and that sounds like probably the most boring tedious route to obtaining land one can ever take.
Now building ships, attacking, building cluseters is just more FUN. I completely agree with BW because I`ve restarted 2x 500+ planet A.Miner and 500+ planet Collective empire for the same reasons pretty much. |
