I`d like to start a discussion of the top 10 most powerful empires ranking system for Normal server in terms of influence, empire development, stats, age, alleged artifact stores, ability to take down a UW (or successfully do one), etc.
Here are some candidates, feel free to profile more candidates and rank them, apologies to those I don`t profile. :)
Fuzzy
A independent tax miner with multiple C3s, this empire boasts 3 prior UWs and possesses the pyth, galleon, and herc on top of the standard miner cap ship and starbase compliment. Over 450 days old, player since april 2008, 1:1 win/loss ratio in both colonies and battles, over 2200 battles.
Grantweep
Currently taking a break from the game but affiliated with TCF, 1 UW accomplished w/ viral scout. Captured multiple huge land U larges w/ 100+ housing levels, possesses huge economy while remaining explorable. 1/1.86 win/loss ratio in battles and 1/2.72 planets gained/lost. Over 1050 total battles.
Ragnarok
Leader of the UFP, undisputed top fed on Normal server with multiple high powered members, 1 UW accomplished, possesses Galleon. Huge economy tax Miner with base pr over 1.1m, 1.73/1 win/loss ratio and 2.48/1 planets gained/lost. Over 2450 battles. 1001 days old, player since June 05.
Drunkenmasters
Leader of the MOB, #2 fed on Normal, 1 UW accomplished on server, multiple UWs on other servers, possesses the Lakko. c3 agri maru, very rich, well connected vet. 1.71/1 win/loss ratio and 2.23/1 planets gained/lost. Over 2750 total battles, player since Sep 06 ON THE SERVER.
Metsu
Member of TCF, #3 fed on Normal, neutral. Most powerful and oldest guard on server. Huge rumored artifact stores. 1/1.22 win/loss ratio, 1/1.72 planets gained/lost. Over 2850 total battles, player since Dec 03.

An argument can be made for any of these players but some have done more visible displays of strength than others. I think it takes a bigger man to accept orders, and I`ve certainly made poor judgement calls which I know cost players like Metsu months of build up. Change is unkind to slower servers, but my federation has persevered... because no one wants to quit! |

99+ day(s) ago | hehe :) now i listen to Uber but usually i make my own choices on matters :) also my whole stats are meh. my lost ratio is so bad as most of the time i cant be bother to waste the resources in building a fleet to defend 3 single borders. i research Hun-xe ....that took ages!
May as well list Uber over me tbh. when push come to shove. if he orders i will obey for the fed wishes |

Although I suppose I should have profiled Uber over Metsu, given how Metsu takes orders from Uber. Or maybe leave off GW entirely and list Uber instead since GW isn`t even playing right now *although he tends to be a very disruptive force wherever he goes it seems*. |

And most artifact holders lack the wealth to kill your UW with. Say, during last UW on normal I made a total of 3-5 hits of at most 30m each - I did not have the minerals for more... |

99+ day(s) ago | That is a valid point, skill is very much a factor, but ultimately an empire with multiple c3s is going to be able to force several smaller lower income empires to expend all their reserves in a protracted fight if allowed to build too high in PR.
As for questions, if I had to choose 4 empires to put into forced VM via historia, it would be the 4 people most likely to have huge artifact stores and actually use them: you, anfit, DM and possibly metsu. Other people might have loads of arties, but they`re not likely to care enough to use them. Neutralize the artifact diggers, and a UW is going to succeed. The challenge, of course, is identifying who those people are. :P |

99+ day(s) ago | Interesting discussion. Its kinda hard to judge who is more powerful at the moment at normal as we are not really fighting.
That said battle and ratios income and so on doesnt really matter. There are many examples of empires with huge incomes that dont really understand how to fight. Ask yourself this question: if you were to set off a uw. Who would you put you historias on. |
