  another ship thread  

K. Throw up some reasonable ideas for event reward ships or ships in general. Cool names a plus. Must be a completely new class. Or if you think terrans need a new p class or god forbid collective get a new ship..etc...

In 4501, a Terran research and development team was given a fully functional and battle ready T. Garuda destroyer and were given its design specs, blueprints, battle reports and several billion credits in government stipends and grants and were told simply to "make it better".
After a few years, the design team rolled out with the imperator: an entirely unique warship encompassing the attributes of some of the best ships and technologies the Terran race has to offer.
They started by reinforcing the hull with lighter but stronger alloys and tripling reactor output. This provided power for state of the art plasma disruptor cannons and new mass driver guns. An entirely new AEGIS point defense missile system replaced the old swarm missiles for fighter defense and the remaining 3rd of reactor output went to several shields modified to detect and adapt to any weapon.
All this extra output caused a heat dissipation issue... It was decided to utilize this waste heat to generate power for the ships onboard control and life support systems. This allowed even more reactor power to be applied to the tactical systems. The remaining waste heat was spilled into the thruster exhaust and thus vented from the ship

It is important to note that only the experimental design, though up to full tactical readiness, is the only vessel of its kind and so it is not known how much a given empire would spend on maintaining the vessel.

This is the Terran race`s largest mobile missile platform based off the photon torpedo. Owing to the Terran nature of "bigger is better" we get Syn. She is the sister class to the Tyr and named so for Terrans utter refusal to back down or surrender.
Larger and more powerful than the Tyr, Syn has a more specialized role as a rear line defense and planetary support ship. Her immense size leaves her with little in the way or maneuvering capacity but she makes up for it with extremely long range (relative to similar vessels of her class) and powerful reactors to generate both shields and weapons capability.
Syn was developed to correct issues with the Zeus cruiser and the Tyr. Most notably the low hull rating and requirement for a larger than normal crew to maintain the reactor systems. Most of Syn is automated and advanced engineering was put in place to guarantee reliability and to lower maintenance costs. She requires no more crew than a Garuda destroyer.
The rest of the ship contains vast stores of raw material and huge automated factories that continually churn out photon ammunition for the ships weapons. Syn`s main drive engines are derived from captured Marauder technology which makes them very energy efficient and so Syn is highly self sufficient. She can fight for months on end without resupply.
