Just started my first time ever as Viral and have no clue what to take here..would love to here what you guys think I should take and why. If it makes a difference I probably be commercial viral. |

99+ day(s) ago | Well, after simulating the shark (On defense, at a higher pr, and on multiple attack stances. Also against mostly missile ships) I`m still sticking to my thoughts. It lost most every time. Granted there were some left over, but still a loser ship. Thumbs down! |

99+ day(s) ago | I agree ren. I used it a lot when I was maru and do plan on having it as viral. Its just not many other maru use it so its one of those ill have to wait awhile for. |

99+ day(s) ago | BW pretty much covered everything, but I would highly recommend Shark. If you sim it for a bit, you`ll see just how hard it is to kill. If I remember right nothing in the game can kill it 1:1 pr to pr. Not to mention it`s silly cheap as a Viral. I would actually probably call it incredibly OP in Viral hands. |

99+ day(s) ago | Thank you so much BW for the time you put into that post for me. That`s what I was looking for mostly was the reasons to take each ship suggsted. I really would love to have fenirir that`s why I was asking in earlier post about if my paid ran out. Its sad but I am extreamly poor and have hard time keeping a paid. I live on eastcoast of U.S and have hard time digging also. Thanks again guys for all the advice here. I will be taking my time making the choices so feel free to keep posting or pm me ideas thanks! |

99+ day(s) ago | then you`re taking mainly as a collective counter opposed to a ship for overall use in your fleet which is a poor choice.. but my primary points against it are it`s cost and single damage type.
Shark and Fenrir both have a overall better coverage for fleet usage (Fenrir being the most versatility due it`s no retal)
However shark has a overall better reach for virals who want to fight at mid-high pr range.. due to it`s low upkeep and suited survivability vs ships in that pr range.. |

99+ day(s) ago | These are my general all in one choices but will ultimately depend upon what you want to do and your own style/limitations
Terran
Herc, Tyr, (Thor or Fenrir or Nirv or Guarda)
Herc: an all around good choice and good counter for many ships.. and even useful in stacks
Tyr: (Pure no retal ships are a plus!) Same can basically apply here for tyr good counter for many ships and works well in stacks
Thor: Good long ranged destroyer killer really unique one of it`s own due to it`s range should be one you consider bare min.
Fenrir: Meat shield with no retal.. you might ask why you would want or need a meat shield type ship the answer is simple: Defensive fleets. this meat shield is second best of the meat shield choices from the 3 races in my opinion.
Nirv: Good capital ships but really just a giant pyth i`d generally stay away from nirv
Guarda: Good long ranged energy boat (Generally you don`t really need energy boats in viral fleets and it lacks no retal generally i consider this the bottom choice out of the 4)
A.Miner
Lyth, (Flysch or Aragonite), (Chlorite or Chlor or Epidote)
Lyth: i`ve seen some people say if you have tyr you don`t need lyth or vice versa.. However this is really incorrect in many ways lyth and tyr do compliment each other. both are pure no retal.. Lyth has more survivability then tyr, and tyr has more damage per pr then lyth. (Basically in my personal opinion having both is a very wise choice)
Flysch & Aragonite: These are mostly just a toss up they basically fill the same role with different damage types.. Both are pure no retal .. both fit in a stack just fine.. Flysch has higher hull then arago, and Arago has a bit more damage per pr then flysch, Flysch is triple damage while arago is dual.. Basically just take whichever suits your style/mood best or hell flip a coin even..
Chlorite: truly a unique and under appreciated ship.. 9 range pure no retal missile boat which makes it great for defense and amazing in stacks! the only real con to this ship in my opinion is the fact that if you take thor + chlorite you`re left a bit missile heavy when it comes to destroyers so just comes down to your other ships/your own style
Chlor: Meat shield basically just like fenrir.. has a high upkeep and really is probably the third best choice out of 3 .. doesn`t have no retal and only shoots energy.. Basically take it if you really want it to each their own.
Epidote: Again like Gaurda long ranged energy boat.. not too much to say on it take it if you really want it or are going for something different..
Marauder
Pyth, Pike, (Tiger or Barracuda or Shark)
Pyth: Basically a cheap nirv without no retal and can also serve as a meat shield what`s not to love?
Pike: one of the best non-missile destroyers in the game.. Dual damage + 9 range + pure no retal.. you can`t go wrong picking pike as one of your ships regardless of what your style is..
Here`s where things get interesting the following choice should be based around what you`re missing in your ship makeup.. (As in no meat shield pick shark, No missile boat take tiger, otherwise barracuda is a okay choice)
Tiger: Probably one of the best missile boats in GC (probably overpowered in some regards even not a bad choice if you don`t have any missile destroyers from terran/miner)
Shark: Probably the best meat shield from the 3 races virals can take ships from dual damage and it can take heavy hits from almost anything and live insane survivability (seriously calc it if you don`t believe me)
Barracuda: Truthfully a lack luster choice.. if you don`t need shark or tiger go for barracuda just to give yourself an extra no retal destroyer or pick something else from the race that suits your needs..

Terran: Herc, Tyr (+ Nirv/ Thor/ Ryu)
Miner: Lyth, Chlor (+ Arag/ Flysch/ Chlorite)
Marauder: Pyth, Pike (+ Tiger/ Barracuda)
All depends on your play style but there`s my two cents. |
