  NPC`s on GC  

I was wondering.

In UC you got multiple NPC accounts spread out for players. Why not have it in GC aswell?

If you don`t call them blablablaNPC but just blablabla, they will look like normal players and might even encourage new players to stay. For at the moment new players don`t really got much excitement to experience from what I hear. When they want to attack anyone, they have to wait for hours to get into range and when they do, they get to do 1 attack and have to wait again.
It really is only interesting onces you get to the higher pr`s.

Idea:
-give them normal names, not NPC. This to attract newer player without making them think it`s a dead game when they only see NPC`s out of DP. They will learn that it are NPC`s after they have tried (and liked) the game.
-like 5 npc`s spread out on 25,000 / 60,000 / 150,000 / 400,000 / 800,000 power rating.
-for 25k, 6 planets
for 60k, 9 planets
for 150k, 12 planets
for 400k, 15 planets
for 800k, 18 planets
The percentage fleet PR will go up then
-Script them so that they generate random fleets every 12 hours (thus allowing every timezone to have it`s way with them without anyone knowing it`s fleet for easy borders)
-Make them of different races. Divide them over the playable races so they players can also encounter every race before trying it. My suggestion would be to keep the unlock line in sync with the NPC pr, so 25k terran, 60k miner, 150k, collective, etc


What do you guys think of such an idea? I don`t know if it`s been suggested before and if so, why it didn`t get put into the game.

Well we did enjoy hosting those events, especially me when I got to fight back against the horde of people hitting me. However comma, pause for effect... Not everyone really appreciated it. There were several cases where a few certain players would build up high only to get completely wiped by an NPC, then go crying to the forums about how unfair it was.

I know it`s a shame because we had as much fun as the players did, but it tends to cause an uproar with a few players who make a big deal out of the event and try to ruin them.

However, do not think we`re not looking for different ideas to use for events. We`re looking into ideas all the time to see what would be fun and hopefully something people can`t whine about too much.

well why not have it so that Admins control them just like they do on UC? or perhaps even some trusted Guides. The NPC doesn`t have to be active 24/7 but a little activity threwout the pr spread would be nice for everyone, specially newer players

At least our last event gave regalos for successful hits... But those were uw ship rewards tests. I would love the server to be active again.

The most fun ive had in this game not incl the server wars of old was close to 2 years ago we had a npc fed manned by the staff terrorizing the server, enemies became allies and we worked together to take them out. Their were some bad azz high pr fights, in the end their were a few of us standing over the last npc fed leader deciding who gets the last wack. Rewards were sweet, server was active, and it gave us a challenge.

Heck Id man one full time just to get everyone active and having fun, npc`s that dont hit back are weak sauce.

shouldn`t be to hard to make a script for it. Implement a time thingy in link with the server time and give every ship a number. Then make the random number generator wich can be done in like 1 minute and your almost done.

NPC`s are not actually NPC`s, but admins and guides volunteering their time. Therein lies the issue.
