{DrKsT}GuArDiAn 2012-06-26 | | The rush.... | | Time to come out of dp * glances at the ranks looking up and down * very little activity but empire "A" is out
* studies his movements * watches his pr jumps as he builds * looks at his win/loss stats and colonies taken
I have my prey in sight, gut check time... I calculate my build rates and write them down cause im coming out 10 stackin and movin fast. I come out with a full stack and start climbing up after him. He stops climbing uncharacteristically as if he noticed my intentions. I continue building saving turns as I go and the closer I get I can start to feel my heartbeat inside my chest.
His pr drops as if hes changing his fleet to meet mine, preparing for a confrontation.
One last climb with full turns, maximizing my pr and changing my rotation from defence to offence ... cant hesitate now that im vulnerable and theirs no turning back.
Fleet altitude set to agressive as my heart is beating so hard it feels like its about to burst and its getting hard to breath, here we go...
I was reminded of a battle I had a long time ago with a player named Opvs, it reminded me of why I play this game aside from the ego trip.
Its a total rush. |

Jammer 99+ day(s) ago | That feel when you`re coming out of NP for the first time with a race that can`t explore and only has a home world. If some one hits that target before you, you need to either hit them and win, or drop back to NP FAST! |
IAmTheMatrix 99+ day(s) ago | not* not now |
IAmTheMatrix 99+ day(s) ago | ...where your main concern for this game is now who is fighting who and why, but the reason you lost your queens in stack 5 to a rogue hun-li that was double stacked. That and how many minerals you can safely use to reach your target at 20+ mil pr and have enough to restack into the defensive... Gets the heart pumping.
You just smashed through a well-planned 10 stack that had but one tiny flaw you expected.. youre at 10 mil pr and torching millions of credits per turn. you just stole his 18k u fertile! and its at the TOP of your planet list!
Youve lost some good ships that take time to rebuild and you need borders badly. You scan the ranks looking for a target. You see a guy at 500k. you know that being a tax miner with 30-odd planets means your base pr is well over 1 million...
It comes to a choice: torch the fertile and dont worry with borders or decide to make food for a while and burn your 30k C2.. Your mind is racing deciding that to do and then you see him..
He`s back out of DP and hes pissed! He`s coming for that fertile you took from him. You know that he knows your fleet now. And since you havent rebuilt yet, he knows your pr hasnt moved. hes coming up fast...
So based on his race and the assumption he knows your fleet and he will have the proper ships to fight yours, you decide to let him take the bait. you restack with counters to his counters and wait... You know you cant let him take that fertile. You got a spaz... you can dig more gentes tomorrow morning... you torch the cluster. Now is the time... burning STCs you quickly restack...
Wow It was intense just typing this up... Shame of stephen for letting this game die... |
Ineffable 99+ day(s) ago | F man, u totally nailed it here. HAHAHA.
guess its THAT RUSH that made players stick to this game.
side note:
(sadly the maker isn`t a player too, else he`d be making changes`t/update/improvements night and day to make it better and better) |
GradualIncline 99+ day(s) ago | *Special note*
Class Ones are also the Class most likely to be successful as the non-explorable races, though Guadian, with their build rates and enviable ship list, are also popular. |
GradualIncline 99+ day(s) ago | And this ladies and gentlemen, is the bloodlust of a Class One addict. Unlike the Class Two, or Three addicts, Class Ones live for the hunt, and are the most active in the ranks. They don`t forget that this is a war game, and they don`t whine when people attack them, or when they lose battles. They admire well coordinated attacks, and love reading battle reports. While similar to the Class Four addict, Ones are much more violent and independent, and while they can be good allies, their love of the hunt is eternal, and can make it difficult for them to remove potential targets by joining federations for a long period of time.
*watches spacecrack in action*
