grantweep 2012-04-30 | | I just have one thing to say | | Nerf agri maru income. They are too powerful. Pretty sure the upkeep/income ratio exceeds that of tax miners. That doesn`t make sense to me...
That is all. |

Omegian 99+ day(s) ago | The slower the TB server, the easier it is to take down high pr people either paid or unpaid honestly. As for the whole, whose good fighters ... to each their own and would leave it that, because if we become critical of people then is this a game or a game where we like to prod our Ego`s a ton. Sure we have our "mood" swings, but everyone has that, I mean look at TBK when he was on his period, the forums were .... flooded by him :P.
I am not sure what is worse, players who were on a team for 5+ years that are just counting down the days till their fed fades away or those that would rather see GC die before their empire dies ... that or they just don`t come back. I prefer the latter.
But anyhow, perma historiad meant something, I haven`t seen a historia war in years like the logs I had from 05-07` where I think I paid Ste a years worth of 0 turns. Since then, I was never a fan of artis and their potential abuse. So, give it a year grant, and then maybe I will agree with you seeing the darker side of the arti moon. |
grantweep 99+ day(s) ago | lol yeah, BTCs are just ridiculous...
Rank control seems more important for servers like RT though...since on a TB server, the ranks can be essentially stormed anytime BTC pending :) |
Renegade Game-Admin 99+ day(s) ago | Very true. TB fighting is an entirely different ball-game built around turn efficiency. Then there`s also that other category of BTC`s. IE on fast I can sit there and kill many more turns worth of my enemies fleets than they can kill of mine, but if they can just BTC it all back, I have essentially wasted my efforts, not being able to dig really in my TZ.
Third option is just control the ranks so you have plenty of time to build whatever fleet you please :P |
grantweep 99+ day(s) ago | Yah that`s true.
fighting on RT and TB is just totally different.
On RT its about unpredictability, but on TB I think it has to do more with understanding of turn efficiency, knowing when to spam and when to stack, managing your counters and using the metagame to your advantage.
I`ve never been outstanding at either method of fighting, so I always spam spam spam, rely on scouting intel (this one`s really fun), or use OP ships :) |
Renegade Game-Admin 99+ day(s) ago | Haha, MD. Of course I`m casual, I haven`t fought anything seriously since 05/06. All I`ve done since is build wicked empires and then restart them :P
Once you hit a certain point all fighting becomes is predicting your enemies. The more predictable you are, the worse a fighter you will be viewed as. IE why I consider BW to be possibly the best fighter I have ever seen and that this game has ever witnessed. You can watch him clear 5-6 people at a time merely because he can guess with excellent accuracy what they all have.
This is also why, on RT only, I don`t view Sibi as a particularly good fighter. Far too predictable, albeit effective thanks to being explorable and guard build rates. An effective strategy for his case, where he plays when his enemies are offline though. Just think he could do a bit better with different types of fleets. Very different, at least on Ultra and Fast. There I very much enjoy his fighting. |
grantweep 99+ day(s) ago | lol, glad that I provided some entertainment to you there moops :P |
Apollo 99+ day(s) ago | oooh another history lesson? *skims* nope, already heard this before. all of you are likc a skipping record |
Moops 99+ day(s) ago | bahahaha grant, I disagree with like 90% of your threads. But that quote is amazing :P
Screenshot. |
grantweep 99+ day(s) ago | I know right moops? this game has so few players...everyone`s really just on one team: the losing team that is still playing GC vs the winning team consisting of 99% of the playerbase that has quit :P |
Moops 99+ day(s) ago | I switch teams too often to have enemies |
MajorDinero 99+ day(s) ago | In fact, since you brought it up. I actually think that DM is one of the few greatest players GC has ever had. His only weakness? Extreme mood swings and emotional decision making. But hey, after all these years he is undeniably one of the best EVER.
As for you Ren? I`ve always seen you as a casual player. While not the greatest fighter imo, you are very good at strategy.
And as for sib? In my mind, Sib`s always been a marvelous fighter, but nothing more. That`s not to diminish combat abilities though...he is scary good at what he does.
And if I had to self reflect: I`m only good at building good empires, nothing more. I`m not a super great fighter, not a great UWer, a better than average strategist...but I`m pretty sure I hold the record for making the best empires ever! |
Renegade Game-Admin 99+ day(s) ago | Oh you can make fun of whomever you wish, provided you stay within the forum rules :P
I think those are traits of most GC`ers xD |
grantweep 99+ day(s) ago | Well, it`s not that I suddenly think my old allies are bad players. But I`m allowed to make fun of them in the forums right?
And sib is fairly level headed, but he is as condescending and stubborn as the rest of us! |
Renegade Game-Admin 99+ day(s) ago | Sigh. How often you see this, previous allies/friends become enemies over something small and silly. Sure is interesting to watch though, how peoples opinions and concepts of what is good and what isn`t changes instantly depending on which side they are fighting for. DM is a good example of that :P
Personally I`ll fight with whoever provided they aren`t a moron or irrational. Sibi is a good example of this. I see him as one of the more level-headed people among those who I generally fight, and thus enjoy fighting alongside him for a change on Ultra. |
MajorDinero 99+ day(s) ago | I see that you joined CC on ultra. I`m glad I never joined CC on ultra back when I still played. Because that could have gotten me kicked from 2900 on fast and perma histed, right? |
MajorDinero 99+ day(s) ago | Only someone like you with little understanding of server politics would be so quick to label.
Your understanding of team play is so limited that it pains me to even make this post, seriously. People are on the same time because of similar interests, it`s not always due to full out-alliance. |
MastaKilla 99+ day(s) ago | So you have officially joined the DotV group now?
Impressive young jedi, AccordEx has taught you well! Always join the winning team so you dont have to worry about keeping borders! |
MajorDinero 99+ day(s) ago | I knew I could win if I hit you...the issue wasn`t winning...the issue was overall rank control. As you see, I am very much a team player!
Oh big deal, you were capped out on hists already anyways. And like I said, don`t act all arrogant because of your geographical location. |
Sibiriangun 99+ day(s) ago | If you had paid any attention to the ranks before you came out you would have seen I was above you until a days time before that, where Founders took a swing at me. Apparently I could keep you in VM for 2 months with a fodder fleet... which I would probably still have if Founders hadnt hit me. Guess how many hists I could make in that time :) |
MajorDinero 99+ day(s) ago | If what you said is true, then you suck at the game.
I never said everything revolves around me, but you`d be a fool to think that a 600+ planet miner #1 on the richlist VM building for the past 2 months isn`t a threat.
Your tactic is a fair one. I`m not complaining dude, just don`t act all chickeny because
1) you get to live in a time zone that is able to arti farm
2) you thought about this tactic (I have never seen it used before on a VM builder) |
