IuztheEvil 2012-04-22 | | Let the debate begin... | | Ok, I have been searching for a spaz for days now...I just managed to snag a 10 land ocean today and I have a 2 land gas as well. Can anyone weigh in on how those alternative planets perform when digging? |
|
Reaper 99+ day(s) ago | What about when the player needs a spaz such as guard. Will a 2 land spaz make that much difference compared to a 5 land spaz? |
IuztheEvil 99+ day(s) ago | Well, it looks like you guys were right...I`m getting more rares and uncommon than I ever saw with a spaz, and at common dig time...
Nice.... |
WhatIsTheMatrix 99+ day(s) ago | lol my brain still interprets IuztheEvil as Luz the Evil even though I know it isnt. I`ll dig up an equation I found a few years ago. I wrote it somewhere I just cant find it. To me it was just random variables in an equation I didnt understand (at the time) |
Apollo 99+ day(s) ago | i knew it was an "I" i think its more fun to tease you calling you "Luz" |
IuztheEvil 99+ day(s) ago | Just for the record, it`s an "i", not an "L"... |
Deathroe 99+ day(s) ago | Good Stuff LuztheEvil :) |
IuztheEvil 99+ day(s) ago | I guess I should have said Way, way, way off topic... |
Apollo 99+ day(s) ago | GC is coldfusion |
IuztheEvil 99+ day(s) ago | Let`s go off-topic!
Most randomness (in the CS sense) is actually seeded deterministic machines that are difficult to predict, but can and always will produce the same numerical sequences given the same seed input conditions. I believe a hack on SSL was based on the fact that a poor pseudo-random number generator was used in a linux implementation, but I`m too lazy to google it...
Ttrue randomness does exist, unless you can produce an equation that describes the quantum state of my lunch tomorrow...and there are very expensive "true random" machines in existence, or there are other methods by which a truly random number can be obtained.

detour accomplished. |
Squaks 99+ day(s) ago | meh no one knows and i`m sure the coding is a complete mess that would take someone a long time to figure it out. |
WhatIsTheMatrix 99+ day(s) ago | Well randomness can be proven false mathematically. As such there is no randomness in nature. But isn`t Gc coded in php? |
Deathroe 99+ day(s) ago | Perhaps, there is a bit of randomness built into the Digging Code??
Me thinks there is - `cause that`s how I would do it - Hence - no finite answers!!
Digging is like a box of chocolates ................................
PS I like Oceans |
IuztheEvil 99+ day(s) ago | I would love, just once, to see an example of the craziness in the GC source code...just once. I`ve heard things, but you never really know till you see it... |
WhatIsTheMatrix 99+ day(s) ago | lol bout as close to `getting lucky` as current coding techniques will allow |
IuztheEvil 99+ day(s) ago | Well, it`s easy enough to keep stats for a specific planet type, race, dig strategy, loyalty, amount of minerals, planet count, wins, losses, ratio, etc...and then to vary those and calculate a p value. If I just refrain from using other artis during stat collecting, that should give some sort of picture....ignoring empire ID
Lots of work...maybe I`ll just dig... |
Moops 99+ day(s) ago | Not even lying! Someone (don`t recall who anymore) gordo`d up a spaz for no good reason, and I`m pretty sure they said it was epic digs o.o |
Apollo 99+ day(s) ago | dont listen to moops hes lying lol |
Moops 99+ day(s) ago | I`ve heard that higher land on a U.Spaz will actually provide more arti`s than lower land. Obviously not the case for other planet types like Oceans |
EphemeralEternity 99+ day(s) ago | it probably won`t matter if a single person comes up with a chart if there`s a possibility that Empire ID`s race, planet count, empire age, any other stats or what have you are part of the digging formula. also everyone`s definition of what good digging is, is different. what if certain parameters allow you to dig more stcs...and other parameters gives you more yellow orbs.
there`s just alot of variables that would take perhaps months to test. which is alot of work. |
WhatIsTheMatrix 99+ day(s) ago | Okay, someone take the time and come up with a chart... |
