Don`t cheat - Not worth it

It doesn`t hurt just you, it hurts your fedmates when they see you at 1500pr for no reason they can immediately discern.

Even if the charges are false and you are exonerated by getting your account back, it still hurts your fed just as much as you.

Trust me, I know. I`ve had fedmates and allies both rightly and wrongly suspended for cheating. And it hurts esp if it`s someone who I regularly talk to.

Funny story. I`ve actually gotten suspended for publically getting on the bad side of a certain admin (I won`t name him but his name starts with an "M") because he suspended 3 fedmates for a rule interpretation he made up on the spot and pulled out of his you-know-what. To his credit, he gave my fedmates their accounts back cuz they legitimately were given guidance from a guide that was the complete opposite of "M"`s interpretation of the rules.

However, I was so incensed that I also posted a complaint against "M" directly to Stephen. I also started a forum post requesting "clarification" on "his" confusing interpretation of the rules posted on a banner announcement. He was completely in the wrong, the entire community knew it, and I publicly called him out on the forums. In retaliation, I was suspended on all servers.

And it was an illegitimate retaliation cuz here`s the reason they gave for suspending me:

Suspended untill ` GameGuide in question decides fit `

Obviously someone was "very annoyed" that they got called out. :P

Moral: Cheating and subsequent suspension (even if it turns out to be a false accusation) not only hurts your fedmates, but can make them do silly things like make pointless forum threads or rage quitting the game. So if you cheat (even unintentionally) and get suspended, it`s still your fault when fedmates do silly things. :D

If you want details, PM me. I definitely enjoy the conversation. But keep it civil. Trashing staff in public, even when they`re wrong, is quite pointless even if temporarily satisfying. ;)

I am going to give a little opinionated gesture into this.

I love the smack about Staff, but no staff is perfect, that is with any profession. There are some issues here and there about any organization and their methodology behind dealing with violations, etc.

That is why we have forums/friends who talk to admins as "Negotiators" if you wish to put it that way (Big O its showtime!) But the level of players in any given game are always going to outnumber staff and their abilities to see all the errors that staff does.

Take a regular 500 person company, the CEO leaders the company, but does not see if his leadership is bad or good all the time, he might not see all the vantage points that his subordinates do, thus he relies on them to bring back information to the leader. I suspect the same would be wanted from a player base game to the staff who work/manage it.

Thing is, the line crosses when subordinate argues with leader, it just doesnt look good for game, corporate image, etc. We all like to be truthful, honest, etc. But from watching a person get fired within 2 minutes in front of me doing this Rag ... that was his paycheck so sometimes you have to bite the bullet and go through the other channels and pull in people whom you think would be able to not be opinionated, but hold a good argument.

Suffice to say, things go on and improve.

This is operational life, consider this game like a small organization.

Rag, I got suspended by him for very much the same reasons. He is not very intelligent, to say the least.

I got suspended for selling RM as collective @1 as well. This was even more ridiculous. The reason why I was suspended was because I had posted @3 a week before that(which was post UW).

And for those who are curious about what "rule" was broken, here`s what it is. Don`t argue with it, it`s official staff interpretation, just be aware of it cuz it isn`t intuitive to anyone who hasn`t been here for 5+ years and seen some of the circus acts that go on in public and behind the scenes:

If you`re a fed leader (or even a fed mate), and you see a fedmate going inactive, you cannot leave the fed right before the (inactive) empire loses DP just to take his cluster.

If you`re a fed LEADER and facilitate this behavior, you are also held liable.

And if you`re the poor sap who forgot to log in for a few days and a fedmate/fed leader decided to be an opportunist and take your clusters (and most importantly, someone reports it), well you`re pretty much screwed. Unless of course they kicked you and took your clusters instead, then you avoid liability for the crime of going inactive. :P

Again, I don`t make these rules, I just abide by them. I suggest you do too, and do it with a smile without a hint of questioning the staff. :)
