OpusX 2012-03-28 | | Election | | Time for some more history for the new comers!
So looked at the fed stuff and found the ELECTION section. Disabled With deep regret we have disabled this feature mainly because a small group of players are abusing this feature, mainly using it to destroy federations (termed as anaboliking). We are currently working on GC 1.07 that once done will offer more support for federation, so stay tune.
So, what is wrong with anaboliking? this is something that is done for example EvE Online. Who was this group of players? =P Telll us the story.
And last, i guess Stephen got lazy to patch this? Cause seeing the date when the game was made and the number of the patch... we should be way passed 1.07 XD |

IuztheEvil 99+ day(s) ago | My bad, didn`t realize it was a bug....I don`t remember anabolik using a bug...when was this discovered? |
BadWolf Game-Admin 99+ day(s) ago | actually all this goes back to a bug in the election system..
you can be in a fed of friends then have them all vote for you.. i forget if it`s you get kicked or resign but you leave the fed join another one and you still have all those votes from the other fed
Being stephen didn`t know how to fix this he just disabled it
*Before anyone starts yes i know it`s a simple fix however im not stephen so don`t want to hear it.*

IuztheEvil 99+ day(s) ago | Well, if they quit, then they were quitters and would have found another reason eventually....like not being able to take out a UW fleet with 150 thors and some strafez....or being hit multiple times and losing some terrible clusters....or that infra research jumps turns after 100 total...
If you own a fed, you should know who you are admitting. I`m just sayin`....
TL; DR: And that`s how Dorothy got back to Kansas, even though Katy Perry tried to keep her in Vegas.... |
theINSaneone 99+ day(s) ago | *looks somewhere on his harddrive for some things that are probably there.
Hey, look what I found. Bet the owners of those feds quit after this happened.
3:49 AM 15/11/05 System: resigns from UTM Foundation Year (Federation) !UTM Foundation Year Federation has been disbanded !
3:21 AM 17/11/05 System: resigns from Damocles (Federation) !Damocles Federation has been disbanded !
11:43 AM 18/11/05 System: resigns from the minions (Federation) !the minions Federation has been disbanded !
8:27 PM 22/11/05 System: resigns from MechNova (Federation) !MechNova Federation has been disbanded ! |
IuztheEvil 99+ day(s) ago | Since there are not a lot of planet holders anymore, does this still really apply? I mean, if you let DV into your fed...you are taking a risk and placing a lot of trust in him...if he decides to betray you....oh well....sell some gorods, get a paid, start a fed and trust less....
And a true anabolik was usually preceded with several other people joining said fed to provide anabolik with the necessary votes prior to him joining...why anyone let him into their feds after a few times is STILL a mystery to me.... |
GalacticMercenaries 99+ day(s) ago | interesting |
SagacityUSRR 99+ day(s) ago | The first fed i was in got Anaboliked by TBK so i joined BlackStaff and did the same lol
I don`t remember who i got it from but he was almost in tears and threaten me alot :)
Glad anaboliking is gone tho feds need to be stable and it would be to easy for players to mess with other feds and piss people off and make people quit |
Ishamael 99+ day(s) ago | My friends and I were informed back in `05 that you could use your votes from a current fed, have the leader kick you, then join another fed and use the votes from your previous fed mates to take over the new one. Essentially we were sending a player with 1100 votes to a fed with 2000+ planets and disbanding it. Didn`t think much of it because at the time feds could be created regardless of whether you had a paid or not. Anyways, that`s the story of why it got disabled. Again, my bad. |
Renegade Game-Admin 99+ day(s) ago | Meh, you vote once. But you had the number of votes as your planets.
So say you have a fed with 562 planets over 10 members. If all 10 players are voting for the same leader, the leader has 562 votes for him.
Now say you let DarthVader into your fed. He votes for himself and he has 1100 votes in his favor. No matter the other 10 people voting for him, he is now leader. And there`s nothing you can do about it.
I also believe it`s apparent ste does not have a brain.

OpusX 99+ day(s) ago | who with a brain would let you vote as many times as you have planets -_-. |
Renegade 99+ day(s) ago | Every member of a fed had a certain number of votes towards who was fed leader. This number was equal to whatever your current planet count was. Person with the most votes was leader of the fed, and you could change who you were voting for at any time.
Anabolik was a player who used to get into feds, and vote for himself as leader, then kick everyone and disband the fed. The practice became named after him.
Essentially ste is silly though. |
Ishamael 99+ day(s) ago | There`s a bug that Stephen didn`t feel like correcting. My bad. |
