  UFP UW Victory song!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uiyaqnj2FZ4

Congratz EMPIRE on your well deserved UW, and congratz UFP for helping to make it happen!! EMPIRE is the last original UFPer in the fed, and deserves this conclusive end to his 9 year stint as a terran.

Now listen to the song and PARTYYYYYY!!! Cuz, at least for now, UFP is NUMBER ONE baby. No room for negativity and bickering in THIS thread. Yeah!!! :D

You could still make feds without a paid back then, and it`s not too terribly hard to write down your existing fed mates.

It`s just a real pain getting all the fedmates back in, and sometimes you forget which newbs were in your fed. It sort of disrupts the recruitment going on. But it`s like teabagging a dead body. No point, and it`s kinda lame and disgusting, but people do it to shame folks. Plus, not everyone had paids back then, so if the entire fed was paid-less, then the fed is kinda screwed in that regard if they aren`t that well organized.

I get being secretive and sneaky and going into a fed with intentions of spying, maybe even becoming leader and sending it in a bad direction. But I dont get entering a fed strictly to use the election function to immediately take control and then disband the fed. It`s weak. And I still dont understand why the people of that fed couldnt just start a new one and continue on. But all this is history anyway.

Yea, I remember when I first started playing, my mission was to go to a newbie fed on Fast Server and take over a fed that used to be part of the UTU movement on fast server. Terran Revenge. It was great working with a couple other players to retake the fed, but nerve racking to keep it. I was in constant paranoia that I would lose the fed, as all fed leaders were. :P

So when they removed it, I was quite relieved, but at the same time it sort of removed a lot of the drama and skull-daggery that went on in the game. :P

I wonder if that`s when GC started going downhill. =/

Grant, Lif, yup, just have a look at the old winner`s list (the current is cut-off at the bottom).

So i guess now i know that anaboliking was named after a player.

Because otherwise it made no sense. Anabolic means to build up (anabolic steroids, build up muscle), where as catabolic means to break down. I always thought that something was strange in the term...it woulda made a lot more sense to say that you were cataboliking the feds (breaking them down), lol.

This thread is now officially making me feel a painful case of nostalgia. I miss the old days. :C

Pah! Anaboliking was a hilariously fun way to negate enemies. lol. As long as you didn`t *Ahem* take advantage of any "tweaks" in the system, it was a fair play as well. Kind of like infiltrating an enemy`s government, and detonating a pile of C4 in their leadership`s council chambers with them all present. :D

I loved anaboliking...

I`m too newb to understand. If someone anaboliked your fed, why couldnt you just start a new one with the same people? Was it that hard to get everyone together again? By the way, there are obviously ways around rules and clever ways to fool, trick, defeat others in this game. But I have to say, joining a fed to become leader via the planet/vote rule just so you can disband it is cheap. It`s not clever in any way (the RN story is a little different). I`m glad it hasnt existed since I started playing.

Woo Hoo! The celebration continues LOL
Great Victory song!

Renegade and Uber,
Many thanks!

Anfit,
Yes, LCA had more UWs. UFP could never match the STCs that you guys could get *ahem*

Ragnarok,
RubberNation... this issue, I have to address. I have nightmares until today :(
It was me that passed the leadership to him. Of course, he was rather eloquent, not unlike Fuzzy and Grant today :)
BTW, Fuzzy WAS in UFP during one of our weakest periods (I digress)...

On that fateful day, we were discussing on matters of the Fed ie strengtening, allies, strategies and leadership... We were practicing rotational leadership and of course, Rubber was included after Paladin, Spartacus, GE, myself. The evening I passed the Lead to Rubber, that !@$!#@! anaboliked the Fed... bringing to the end of the Golden era. UFP never recovered after that.
Leadership transfer was removed from then.

Anyway, life goes on! Lets close the sad chapter of the past... *takes a RPG and blow RubberNation to bits*

Cheers!

You got the disinterest part right for slow. I`m barely interested in the server enough to even bother to log in and use my turns in NP. Only log in every so often to just sprinkle the server market with minerals and see if any GC fishies come bite, but there seem to be fewer and fewer with every passing month. =/

"But what happened with RN again? I know he did some massive act of betrayal with UFP and totally shook up the balance of power somehow, I think he practically anaboliked UFP without actually resigning. Did he just defect to LCA then?"

He infiltrated and maintained a membership (Even a position of leadership) within their ranks for some time, all with the intent to later pseudo-anabolik it. He followed up upon his successful completion of said plot by inviting delegates of all of UFP`s primary enemies into the Federation for a GC-equivalent of a Teabagging/Victory Lap. I know all of this, naturally, because I talked to him on/off at the time, and had a member of my Alliance (BSP) invited in for the Tea-Bagging. (I was too large for this at the time, maintaining around 4-500 planets, and he was wary of anyone trying to Anabolik the Anaboliker. lol.)

I still have a relatively keen memory (For whatever reason) for long passed events on the Normal Server. Feel free to ask me if anyone ever wants any refreshers.

"@ Omeg - It`s more like MK lost the players who were allowing them to keep control of the servers."

I am willing to say that we still remain the lone "Super Power" on the Slow Server. Though the disparity between ourselves, and the competition HAS become smaller due to disinterest/retirements in the last year or two.

Newbs.... :P

PP, I have to agree with Ren, before 07` to 08` you really start seeing many veteran people not being as active as they used to be, I mean look at me. I kind have cratered since my 09` days ...

That being said, everyone has more time and less time over the years, so it is kind of hard to pin a person as being an active rank holder or such.

I have never been even remotely useful. I play GC to whine at people and moan on the forums. And talk lots of smack and stuff. General stuff like that. I never actually learned how to stack or fight or plan strategies.

BW and SD have always been useful, even in the time you have been here.

Well you are right - and i knew that when i wrote what i wrote. I dont know if you, BW and shatterd were useful fighters in the ranks before i arrived at this server about 2½ year ago. My comments is based on what i have seen the last 2½ year.

Masta, it helps if you read. That way you don`t make silly posts like the first half of yours.
I was responding to Pete saying `those were the ones who did most of the work`. And while not to say those 3 did not do tons for the fed, they were not the only.

As for your other point, yes it is. 6 years of the same is a little ridiculous. We lack everything right now. As of today we have three active players capable of climbing to 100m - Me, BW, and SD.

@ PistolPete - You have spent very little time fighting CC compared to others. You have to keep in mind you have not been playing this game very long and CC was around for a long while. Much of its history and wars you were not around for.

Lol Ren since when have you "lost" Rasit, BW and SD? Since they changed names? I see them all in Villains right now, and most of them are online every day. And I see Moops and Beer there as well.

As I see it, you lack rank taking players, such as Lab/Aacra/Suma/HB and JJ´s guard, explorable guys who cared more for doing the job than their win/loss ratio or the ethical beauty of their fleets.

But the switching of rankcontrol once in a while is only good for the game.
