FlashysDomain 2011-06-18 | | Best phone | | I`m in the market for a new phone upgrading from my current Blackberry. I`ve been told to stick with Blackberry ... the Motorola Bold 9600 series. In theory best for phone and OK for the `net. While I know my friends have issues with durability and phone capability using the Apple I Phone (sucks big time as a phone and seemingly they are always dealing with issues).
So...any advice? |

YATYAS 99+ day(s) ago | iPhone bite as phones. My company has only issued 4 in the last 6 months. 3 people are begging for the Blackberry curves back. The other 3 love the iPhone.
The people who miss the curve do a minimum 1000 minutes a month each on the phone and average only 400 mb of data. The iPhone lovers average only 250 minutes, but chew up over 3 gb of data a month.
So if you use the phone a lot, stick with the Blackberry or the iPhone will just drive you nuts.
I would also go to an Apple store and play with an iPhone for at least 20 minutes. Some people just can`t handle the touch screen. |

CeeLoGuardian 99+ day(s) ago | when i was younger i enjoyed reading a good book and could for hours, now it seems the physical act of reading makes me want to sleep |
Raistilin 99+ day(s) ago | I`m mid 20`s, worked in the computer industry, enjoy gaming on computers, ect...
I still spend time to grab a book, sit on a lawn chair and relax. I honestly think it`s less of a generation thing , and more of a people are too tied up in things with batteries.
Books > computers, sunlight > lamps, Nice beach breeze > ceiling fan. |
HoneyBucket 99+ day(s) ago | Flashy, I am right there with you. Even for textbooks, I ordered an ebook for school one time and hated it. And even more so for leisure reading, I like to have a hard copy book with pages I can turn etc.... nothing electronic will ever take the place of a true book for me. Plus the book never runs out of batteries and you can read them in places you can`t read an electronic device, such as courtrooms and so forth. |
Vendeen 99+ day(s) ago | I had the choice of buying an e-book for $20 or a used textbook for $60 (Brand new = $220). I bought the used textbook.
I can`t stand reading on computers. I still read newspapers and books and prefer flyers over internet ads. That`s just me. Seems the rest of the up-and-coming generation would prefer the new stuff.
If you ask me, they`re all quite crazy.
As for phones, go with droid. Get one with at least a dual core 800MHz processor and you`re good to go. My girlfriend loves her new droid phone (it`s one of the cheap ones with 800MHz processors) and I`ve gotten to play around with it a bit. Feels a bit more natural to say what you wanna say in a text rather than mess around with the touchscreen keyboard. A lot of free time-wasting games to play while waiting at an airport or something as well. Fast browser and has great service area (through Verizon).
I`m still using the enV2. Reliable phone but not as "smart" as others. After 4 years it`s finally starting to fall apart (front keyboard`s dead, keys not responding, etc.) but definitely a tank of a phone. |
FlashysDomain 99+ day(s) ago | Which brings up a question. I like books. We have at work references available via a link, but I`ve printed out most of what I need because it`s quicker to leaf through the pages than scroll around or do a search for what I want to look up.
Same with a book. I would never ever think reading a book via a Kindle etc is relaxing or pleasurable. Never. it has no soul.
So you who are just above knee high to a grasshopper and who`s testicles may have just dropped...am I in sync or out of touch with reality these days? |
Infernal 99+ day(s) ago | i`d say get a tablet and a phone. a cheaper phone, and the tablet to handle the browsing/email/research etc |

FlashysDomain 99+ day(s) ago | Well HB...I admire your taste and being up-to-date on your technilogical prowess. I`m sure somewhere somehow someone admires that aspect in you.
