grantweep 2011-04-03 | | Balance G.Diamond | | It`s too good versus non guardian races (try keeping up with it`s buildrates - good luck!)
But it`s fares way too badly on guardian vs guardian matchups (due to K class)
Is there anyway we can balance this ship so that it`s effectiveness is not race-dependant? |

FistOfNoRemorse 99+ day(s) ago | dago yes i know -100% = 0 that was the idea |
DrKsTGuArDiAn 99+ day(s) ago | When I came back here as guard again their were a few inactive guards I hunted for land and I was lucky and got a c2 with 1700 loyalty. I took about 115k land to get started but I plundered here and their. I haven`t needed to hunt anyone since, except sibi but he plundered before I could really get to him.

Raistilin 99+ day(s) ago | My empire on RT, when I went back guardian i spent a while looking for a high loyalty planet and never got one. However out of the blue, while i was fighting some people, i knocked AmericanMinistry down 3 planets. Can`t say why to this day I bothered to check, but when I did a beautiful 2,500 loyalty icy was sitting on my borders. Quickly bordered up and sat there giggling like a school girl who had a rather deep voice and a demonic side...
Tl;dr - it always feels better earning your empire than getting it handed to you. |
Brotherhood 99+ day(s) ago | Preach it DM...ive been newbie hunting ever since i started back as guard and only found 1 planet with any loyalty on it...and prepared to wait as long as it takes to find more lol...and agree leave our base alone!!!! :) |
Dagobert 99+ day(s) ago | rofl -100%
is that a joke or did you really not know that would always be 0. |
DrunkenMasters 99+ day(s) ago | Getting a barren out of a friend is cheating - it should be punished. The tax modifier shouldn`t be changed, nor should the rewarding option be added - after all, that makes the race unique. If you want a challenge, try playing guard without actually asking friends to get loyalty. It can take ages to get a decent loyalty planet. But usually they come every now and then if you wait.
Diamond is ok as it is. |
DrKsTGuArDiAn 99+ day(s) ago | Prono, is that like pro bono x-ratedo? |
ShadowKing 99+ day(s) ago | i think you meant 2 say x-ratedo |
AshyLarry 99+ day(s) ago | sounds like a good prono |
FistOfNoRemorse 99+ day(s) ago | "we did give you our ships we might as well give you our seed" |
AshyLarry 99+ day(s) ago | if guardians made a baby with a.miners... it would look like fistofnoremorse |
DrKsTGuArDiAn 99+ day(s) ago | Dam fist that`s hardcore, I like it. |
FistOfNoRemorse 99+ day(s) ago | - make guardian income for tax and comm -100%
- increase mining mod a bit
- let them hold 2 more planets
- increase scanner for opal
- time to strip mine
now were too poor to be nerfed
(this is the right answer) |
Deamon666 99+ day(s) ago | so those are the solution the other races come up whit nerf guard s its practically no income or kill theyr ships
YOU DON"T GET IT guards are completely geared for combat we got already littlel to no income horrible digs low planet count no uw and killable and no loyalty of our own
the only 2 edges guards have are awsome ships and no need of food |
Sibiriangun 99+ day(s) ago | Yes removing gordos would resolve a lot of problems... but the key issue here is all the old empires who have already gordoed massively. This is why removing gordos now is not feasible, as new empires can never compete with the old ones. |
Freelancer 99+ day(s) ago | @ Pete - i like the idea... sounds good. |
DrKsTGuArDiAn 99+ day(s) ago | @ pete
You make an interesting proposal I like the idea, but in any case doesn`t it come down to gordos? Removing gordos from the game would balance out the over powered guardian issue. Or maby make guards unable to use artis alltogether as well as have artis be ineffective against them. |
PistolPete 99+ day(s) ago | i gotta agree with you Sib.
In some sense the loyalty thing about guards is a broken feature. We all know that half of the guards would get a loyaltied barren from a friend anyway. By giving them away we ensure that the empires that do not want to cheat have a chance of getting loyaltied planets. On the other hand guards should never have been able to have loyalty since it makes them too easy. The best fix imo would be to reduce the tax modifier even further and allow every guard to put loyaty on their planets. |
Seraphim 99+ day(s) ago | I`m surprised a guardian you would oppose such action sib but anywho , g diamond does not need a not-smart nerf , not-smart guardians think they need a loyalty (are you frigging joking me?) , worry about actual races that need better nerfs or more ships (collective) then worrying about this non sense |
Sibiriangun 99+ day(s) ago | Heh look at the ranks right now. The top 5 is (excluding Kelti who is always in VM anyhow) a 700 planet miner, a terran who has probably saved up for a long time going up there, and then 3 explorable guards who can go to 200mil+ every day if they want to. Do guards really need a buff?
And please, please, PLEASE dont hand out more loyalty to the guards than they already have! |
