Islander 2011-02-05 | | Renren`s Suggestions Thread | | I have three suggestions that I believe would bring about serious change in the activity levels of the game, the level of skill required to play it, and suggestions that would help to fix some of the issues with the games economy.
1.) Make C3`s not able to be plundered.
2.) Every month you spend without exiting DP (ex: VM or frozen,) you lose your outermost c3. If you don`t have any nothing to worry about.
3.) Remove minor gordos from the game.
All our problems will be solved.
/discuss, but before you do know that I am right and unless you agree with me you are wrong.

DarkMaraudian 99+ day(s) ago | im sure an admin will ban her if the admin is bored and feels like doing it on a whim seems they are allowed too.
removing or limiting minor gordo is a great idea
C3s can kill certain race`s so making them unplunderable to marauders guardians virals and collectives is a bit unfair in a fair few situations
maybe a project or something that can make systems unplunderable using X class or such would work better , needs coding though so never going to happen , atleast that way collective and marauder`s can plunder them , and regretably viral could infect then plunder... ( make a infect C3 unplunderable !! )
making it so explore races cant plunder C3s seems fun in my opinion atleast, i guess this could be coded easier as a racial ability similar to how X class is coded |
Darkseid 99+ day(s) ago | !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BAN ACCORDEX !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best suggestion!!!! |
GradualIncline 99+ day(s) ago | yeah, I say no to all the above, not that I spend any more time in VM then absolutely necessary, and I don`t think my account has ever been frozen, the people VMing for a month probably have RL issues to deal with, or are burned out on space crack for a little while, and don`t want to have to deal with an account every day, but don`t really want to give up the game either. Punishing them for wanting to keep a small connection to the game without completely giving it up is a good way to drive them away. It`s the 1 week VMers that are much more of a problem, though that being said, almost every time I`ve had to go into VM I`ve used the 1 week option :P
getting rid of minor gordos will kill the sale of paids, which might get stephen to notice the game (good) at the sudden loss of income, then offer terrible deals to make that money a different way that completely ruin the balance of the game (bad) possibly ending up in a shift of staff, as happened not too long ago (was it one, two, or three years ago now? I forget these things) when they try to preserve the game.
As for 1.) I don`t know why we should have C3s all of the sudden be X.class, though I guess if you really wanted to be evil, you could Make, an x.class C3 :D As Bio said, a boost in the advantages to being a Maru, that poor rare race, would be nice, as much as I hate Pyth and Angel spams. I still don`t want to be saddled with a C3 I can`t get rid of if it`s going to cause me to lose planets I`ve gordoed and could have explored borders to save if it weren`t for a 125 planet monstrosity laughing at my pitiful attempts to explore borders that can`t be removed before it crushes my empire with it`s unplunderable weight. |
HoneyBucket{HH} 99+ day(s) ago | If you take exploring away from empires it is going to make the ranks in gc all that much more stagnant, the powerful empires in the powerful feds will sit up high and be just fine and the rest will be taking vm when low on borders, I think we have enough empire hiding vm as it is, this would just exacerbate the problem. |
Biohazard 99+ day(s) ago | 1) i see a problems here. But it would be good to get the Maru Race a boost.
2) I agree, every week your in VM you ose 10% of all you resources, and the 2nd week you lose 20% or so. When you on holiday you would lose you empire if you didn`t VM, no VM is abused. This will limited the VM and Enslavement Abuse
3) Not sure why you want to remove minor Gordo`s, but i`am oke with it aslong as major gordo`s will remain. |
Ishamael 99+ day(s) ago | 365 days- no exploring.
And boom goes the dynamite. |
EvilLoof 99+ day(s) ago | Yes removing gordo`s and u.class was one of the best suggestions around when i started playing in 04. Allready that early in the game too many empires had invested in these safe empire setups to make it a suggestion that could be met without angering too much of the playerbase, and the amount of people that have gordo`ed explorable empires is way bigger today. But yes to make this game truly enjoyable for people who likes to play games where you put something at stake explorable empires have to get "nerfed".
Another suggestion i could see, that would be a lesser evil for the current explorable gordo empires, is simply to remove the ability to explore for empires older than x days.
Fortunately mainly a problem for RT, gordo turn expenses on slower servers makes them fairly irrelevant as an empire who invest his digging in BTC`s will be much stronger than anyone gordoing up planets. |
ThEpAkIsTaNiEmPirE 99+ day(s) ago | Honey, maru can`t explore. Hoarding can be a major source of income.
Your suggestions would help reduce the market inflation by a lot, for obvious reasons.
Making c3`s not plunder able ? I don`t understand why would you want to do that ? It would make the game a little fun lol. Or death for marus. |
Freelancer 99+ day(s) ago | Well with more feedback from other players, now i have to say all 3 of these are bad ideas, yes it would make things more interesting sure, but for every suggestion there is normally a problem. And getting Stephen to do anything is impossible and asking the staff to do more stuff could be unfair to them and their personal lifes. |
HoneyBucket{HH} 99+ day(s) ago | TPE well if they can`t play all that often then they shouldn`t try hoarding planets, hoarding planets is for those that have time to take care of a high maintenance account, simple as that..... if you can`t play you should plunder down and remain explorable. |
ThEpAkIsTaNiEmPirE 99+ day(s) ago | Well, number 2) is a good suggestion, but there are some people who really cant play at those times. Via School and stuff, and if they had many c3`s I mean, you could only force them to play more, when they really can`t. It will cause people to just leave the game and play other games. |
Islander Game-Admin 99+ day(s) ago | Mirror - As I stated before you could always make then unkillable as well.
All these would do is raise the skill cap for those who wished to fight and fix some economic issues. I suppose if you keep gordoeing in though, you can take VALJA`s idea of different people in a fed having different roles, and I kind of like that concept. But #1 and #2 sure would make things more fun :P |
OpvsDei 99+ day(s) ago | hes a very skilled player :O |
MirrorUniverse 99+ day(s) ago | I agree with starseeker, arch, & others. If people kill pop on the C3 before losing it (many do), and you could not plunder it, then what would be the point of fighting for one?
FOUNDERS idea for detering extended vm is better I think since it deters both slavers and C3 holders from vm. I`d extend the time frames a bit though from his version.
I am not thrilled about people gordoing clusters or planets up either, but it is a part of the game and I accept that.
Who are you, or anyone else, to determine who deserves to play and who doesn`t? |
DrKsTGuArDiAn 99+ day(s) ago | Before weeding the garden, make sure you don`t kill off the flowers in the process. |
Islander 99+ day(s) ago | The goal of this isn`t to keep players. People who play in these silly ways don`t deserve to play anyway, As many are fond of saying - "It is a war game after all."
The goal is to increase the skill cap and force people to fight, as well as helping the economy along, thereby making the game more fun. |
MajorDinero 99+ day(s) ago | meh, if you are willing to log in every month to renew VM...shows that you are still interested in the game in some way.
I do not want to see more players permanently leaving the game, and I don`t think your suggestion will help retain them. Unless they are abusing VM by VM building, I don`t see how you can force perma-VMers to give up their planets. |
Islander Game-Admin 99+ day(s) ago | Agreed with Coll being able to plunder c3`s since they cannot use them, maru maybe.
#2 is a perfect suggestion, if you are vm`ing for RL reasons for more than a month you`ve got some serious issues and shouldn`t be playing a game anyway. Normal people vacation for 1-4 weeks. Anymore than that and just no.
The whole point is basically if you want to play high powers and have a decent income, you are forced to hoard, and thus forced to fight.
Potentially also make c3`s not able to be killed if #1 were to go through. |
ThEpAkIsTaNiEmPirE 99+ day(s) ago | You would create many more problems lol. |
starseeker 99+ day(s) ago | If C3 not plunderable, wonder how many would even make them anymore? And capturing an unplunderable dead C3 would be horrible for most races. It would be the hot potato nobody wanted. |
