do i win the battle as long as the percentage of my pr lost is lesser than the percentage my enemy lost? lets say i attack with 100k pr on a defending fleet of 100k pr too, and i am left with 99k pr and my opponent left with 98k pr, do i capture at least 1 colony?

Actually Sol, you are wrong.
On non-enslaving attack, you need to kill 10%+ for 1 col, 50%+ for 2 cols, 80%+ for 3 cols AND to kill more than you lose(you can kill 0.000000001% more than you lose, it does NOT matter).
On enslave attack it`s basicly the same thing but you need to kill 60%+ of your enemy`s fleet to succeed.

no.

for a normal attack type you need to destroy 10% of your opponents PR than you lose of your own.
for an enslave attack type it is increased to 50% more (because of the greater attacking PR range)
