NovaRyback 2020-03-28 | | About Deathmatch | | I started writing a thread on the new forum about the recent deathmatch but the new forum is gone. So I apologize for how long this has been in the making.
What did others think about the format and what might be improved upon in the next deathmatch? Here are a few thought`s from myself but please everyone who participated I would like to here from you.
Pros
- Using proposed new ships in the deathmatch. Really shook things up. This isn`t meant as a review of the proposed update, I haven`t made up my mind yet.
- Fast turn rate. 1 turn a second was INTENSE!
- Special Events. Having NPC`s appear temporarily then disappear as well as the C3 giving Kalzul were excellent touches to make people leave protection simultaneously. Again, really shook things up
- Prizes. Having 1st, 2nd, 3rd, as well as prizes in both individual and federation categories kept people striving for more.
Cons
- Timeframe. Having the event run for the better portion of 3 days was a little much. Personally I almost didn`t bother signing up and in the end only played actively for less than 1 day of the whole event. Shorter events would help turnout. Perhaps at different times so various timezones aren`t left at a disadvantage.
- Consistency. Having an event that lasts 3 days with events placed inside without a schedule disadvantages some players. Nobody throws the hurdles underneath the runners in the middle of a foot race. They are knowingly in front of the players at the start so they can be prepared for. There should be some regularity to the events inside the deathmatch.
- Federation Size. People were able to make federations that were too large for the player base and personally I didn`t like the idea of being able to change federations during the event. A federation size limit of 2 or 3 would be well enough and have federations register prior to the event so members are locked in to a particular fed.
Homeworlds. There shouldn`t be any here. This is a DEATHMATCH! |
