Just a question to mompy, did Raist warn you he would smash you down if you weren`t clear about your intentions?

Your first attempt was a blind lunch. Nothing out to the fed that you WERE going for it. Go figure if we didn`t defended it like we should have. Second, I do believe that "backstab" that you call seem fair imo and not only because i`m in SB. Planning to blow fed mate ressource by 66,6% without real notice...yup definitly gonna support that! In my opinion if you were clear about your intention right at the beginning, it would not have been like that. If you talked to the Leader of the fed about the idea then he could have talked to the member he trust, and I do believe that people in SB known each other for a few years now. I have nothing against you mompy, never did and I still dont. But clear ideas on what was your plan would have been way better than vague ideas.

hmm to reply to darks post i reveal what happened.
first of all i was goin to UW .. i just wasnt sure when.. depended on some isues. when i did ma first uw attempt in SB i gave some info away to some of their members. Now that resulted in me gettin chased and get hit from below wich forced me to come out with the uw at 500 mil pr cause i had ran out of time.. as we all know that didnt worked out so well. i was brought down by gaurds in bout 12h...ma toughts where iomidiatly " empire x and y usualy dont hit me in the lower prs. even the higher prs they dont give me much fuzz. so why now?" only 1 reason i think. just fill in the blanks.. sec time i was goin for the uw i builded up above an bil pr already and was movin on... the sky was the limit... ressources was def no prob.. ma only prob was stayin of the richlist... i got artied on regular bases.. but hell im not an newb.. and keepin in mind what happened the first time .. i had much more time on ma hands... 3 weeks hollidays... so i gave practicly no info to the guys of SB.. the server knew somethin was commin up.. no doubt bout that as i received many pms... witch i answered verry vagely... like tellin peeps i was blewin some cash... ma intention was goin for UW with 250 mil stacks .. 8 of them.. unfortunaly EE wasnt the leader then but RAISTLIN... he got angry i guess cause i was keepin him in the dark as all the rest... cause i lost trust in some of the members there after the first time and hey it worked well i tought. wasnt it for the fact that raist had the power to kick me and hit me right after. THAT is what im callin backstabbin.... Now with that said peeps ... enjoy the rules now... thats what i feel bout them.. i hope ive enlighted an few peeps of whats goin on in some dudes minds

imo if there is a rules about not attacking after "x" amount of time it should be on both sides.

Now heres the other side of the coin since I watched the whole thing go down. Did mompy deserve it? Yup sure did he withheld his true intent on climbing from raist, he should have communicated better instead of giving vague replies and ignoring the matter. My point im trying to make is It seems unfair to use knowledge of a fed members fleet info to kick then hit. I strongly advocate to amend this rule by adding that the fed must wait a period of no less than 24hours before hitting unless the booted member hits first.

EE the problem I see with the issue you mentioned is the fed leader can use any and all info obtained within the fed to find out his stack and then by kicking him creating an unfair advantage to take colonies from the former fed member. If he plunders them or not is irrelevant the fact remains an unfair advantage was created in which the former fed member is unaware of whats about to take place and is therefore unable to do anything about it. I can relate to underhanded tactics but I disagree strongly with a fed leader kicking a member with the intent to take colonies or clusters.

Here`s a critique and observation to how this can be implemented and interpreted.

There may be a positive tactical side to following this aside from "pure betrayal". Namely, you as the leader kick the inactive member, and then either you or a fedmate hits the fed member to get his clusters with the EXPRESS PURPOSE of plundering those clusters. This is practical in cases where the member has very valuable clusters at stake that you wouldn`t want a rival empire or fed getting ahold of.

Another easy workaround for the fed overall is to institute a policy where not logging in will result in an automatic kick and notification of all fed members to monitor the kicked fed member. If the fed member logs in after being kicked, they can apply, and no harm is done.

However, if the (former) fed member does not come back in 48 hours, they are free game for all.

Of course, any hint of a (reasonable) suspicion that any of this is deliberately planned will of course run afoul of planet trading bans. But it is pretty hard to actually prove intent beyond a reasonable doubt in this matter, is it not?

Well mompy, it`s still not against the rules to kick someone and hit them out of pure betrayal, so long as you plunder anything gained in the attack, such as colonies.

Thats a question of pure ethics and morals, we don`t enforce those, unless those morals or ethics deal with breaking one of the rules listed above.

Yes it will be updated as needed, though most likely it will have amendments added to the main thread for a while. Usually so long as it`s only a post or too 43 it`s alright, though it depends on total current credits a mins, i mean it`s not likely to be a MT when you have 2 tril in resources and credits when you buy and resell 10-20 bil of resources...but when its lets say 2 week old guard getting 20 bil in mins for nearly nothing that`s a bit more obvious.

Yes at last! Thanks for this it makes me feel that the Admins aren`t totally out for themselves, can I take it this is meant to be comprehensive and will be updated as neccesary?
There is just one point I could see myself falling foul of, I will pretty much always buy up cheap minerals for fairly obvious reasons and will often then post more batches at full price later as minerals are my main income source. If the same person who I bought off of earlier then picks up one of my post it could be considered resource trading even though it is entirely unintentional. Would this be considered OK if there was clearly no collusion?
