Food Market

I don`t think people are going to restart to produce food just for this, at least not mature empires, I`m not going to stop being a guard just because I can now sell as much food at 7 credits as I can produce.

Well hopefully it won`t be permanent..... with any hope, in the long run, the market will balance itself out and then this bot will not be necessary.... as this will probably increase, to some extent, both food producers as well as tax empires.

This will make soo many empires go food producing. If there is no risk doing it, it will probably be the new commercial - just with a lot better income.

Opus we do appreciate your input and glad you are trying to understand it better... and hoping that you or anyone has a better idea then this.... but for now this seems to be best.... your words seemed very critical to me, sorry if I misread them and overreacted. You know that you are one of God`s creatures and I love every last one of God`s creatures!!


Pete.... let`s just see how this plays out and get everyone`s feedback before we go messing with any more servers. Thanks for your feedback though. And yes it is great for huge food producers, which is sort of the down side, but the upside is that the smaller empires can make a living and we can have more people contributing to the food market, and more stability for tax empires... IE overall stability, which I find to be most important.

i wasnt going pro or con on this hb...just disussing it as it seems to be of an important matter. i used to be a big food producer aswell and i am just trying to understand it to put my 5cents in aswell with suggestions. so far i havent critised it...i dont think BW wastes his time to put something in place to jeopardize the game. why would i? just because 2 big food producers happen to be enemies, it doesnt mean that my idea on this concept is influenced in any way. i see it as a general idea and problem to be solved taking into account smaller and bigger empires. this would be the same discussion if rt had too many Aminers producing minerals...

Maybe we should have a bot like that at fast server too.. The food has been at 1-4 the last many years there? Which i consider much more severe than the food market here at RT.

Yes it should have been explained in more detail, but instead of jumping to conclusions it might be best if you just asked questions as to how it works. And I wasn`t trying to be rude, really if you have any better suggestions please speak up so that they can be considered.

No I am not worried just about the big food producers, I am worried about market stability mostly... for the sake of the game.... and for the new agri empires that can`t support themselves.... and the bot wouldn`t buy food at high prices so I don`t see how that would help them..... it`s not going to buy all the food, just the food below a certain price..... it is to create stability..... if you have better suggestions please let us hear them instead of just criticism at an attempt to fix a problem.

yeh, i agree hb. and with only very few food producers, producing these vast amounts they will end up getting everything back sooner or later. i am not worried for the big food producers, but the smaller coll or maru empires, but knowing food is bought up every week or so by a bot, they could just post it all way higher and wait

From my understanding, the food market kept dropping, every time anyone posted below someone would flood the market so nobody else could sell food, it had to be stopped somewhere.... 7 or so I think is a fair enough price to stop food at.

food is at 7, if it`d drop to 3 or 2 id understand that. but at 7 these empires are still making tons of cash arent they?
