Petition RE: enslavement

it takes 1 turn to withdraw from tribute reserves, and tribute reserves cap is 999,999,999, which i max out in half a day. as such, no i dont see that VM enslavers earn any money at all really.

Ragnarok... why not make it automatic? let`s say, whoever go into VM for 3 days option won`t be affected of getting below 5k PR... 24 x 3 = 72 hrs... whoever choose VM less than 72 hrs won`t be affected... BUT whoever are having more than 72 hrs of VM, it will immediately be put under 5k PR...

i prefer to suggest this suggestion to all races coz some of them might want to abuse VM to protect their ranks... but IF it`s going to happen just for the sake of clearing up enslavement VM abusement... i have no prob it will only affect terrans and a.miners...

here`s the prob i can foresee... the true abusers will renew their VMs every 72 hrs... lol...

then i guess it will up to the admins to decide what to do next to the VM abusers... :)

why not man up and straight up ban the VM enslavers. come on, we all know who they are, they never spend a moment out of VM and if they do, it`s only to recollect slaves and re-VM as soon as they can. You`ve seen how they`ve caused newbies like Ullr to restart which is super LAME.

If the slaver is active while in VM then it`ll be a bit tricky to pull off. The only solution to that problem would be if the slave and the admin were online at the same time while the enslaver was offline during the VM period.

well i think rags idea is a new 1 and the best on a temporary basis untill stephen can or will impliment something else.

Requiem why should a slaver make money while in VM whether it is legitimate or abuse. there is no other way for any1 else to make money.

Req you would have a point were it not for the fact that the enslaver doesnt lose fleet while in VM. I suspect this is (another) bug in GC. I agree that you should lose your slaves while in VM, that would solve the issue.

On another note, many enslavers are 1 planet miners anyway so theres no legitimate reason to VM since they cant lose their HW anyway (and no, I dont buy "but I could risk losing a ship in a battle so I VM :(" as a valid argument).

as i respect your "way of living" as an enslaver, Requeim... BUT the main issue here for those enslavers who are abusing VM...

perhaps a few days VM could be ignored BUT once anyone`s taking a week or more VM then they should concentrate more on RL`s issue first and care less about GC until they`re coming back frm VM... let their PR be dropped below 5k and nothing else be touched... up to their slaves to stay on or break free...

i don`t care who`s idea first, whether Ragnarok or someone else b4 him... i supported what chessRPGrulerKoA is going to do... i just hope BW will agree upon this...

let VM be purely for those who are seriously and sincere that need a break to attend RL`s issue first... as i mentioned b4... IF the enslavers think they`re "great" at enslaving others, they can enslave their "missing" slaves after they`re coming back frm VM..

and please remember... IF the slaves don`t want to break free, then the enslavers got nothing to be worried about... coz they`re still having loyal slaves that willing to wait for their masters return.. :P

I disagree with the stand.

Making a living on enslavement isnt easy. Its fun, challenging, but definitely not easy, especially when it comes to providing enough reinforcements for your slaves so no one can steal them from you

I`m not saying i condone VM abuse. On the contrary, i feel that is rather shameless and n00b. However, what i`m trying to bring across is that an enslaver (ie me) might have to legitimately take VM sometime for the same reasons other ppl take VM: cause rl events at present moment do not allow us to log in.

In that case, i feel it would be extremely unfair for us to have pr dropped to 1500 and as a result lose all our slaves.

What i say is leave the system as it is. The slaver will have to provide reinforcements to keep the slaves. If he really is a VM abuser, it follows that for at least 3 days in a row his fleet (and thus his reinforcements) cannot be replenished. If so, then use that fact, and hammer away at his reinforcements. Ask a friend or even a complete stranger to keep hitting enslave on you until his reinforcements are worn out, and then succeed and set you free.

As I have the ability to help make it happen, I would like to say I approve of Ragnarok`s idea as well. The potential issue that could arise, if that were implemented, is that many people (perhaps it`s just an RT thing) vm while they are still going to actively log in and whatnot; in that case, the freeze wouldn`t be very effective at preventing the "slave abuse". I would like to submit that case to your discussion, and I will check back after my classes tomorrow and see what the consensus is. If it seems reasonable at that point, I will officially make a statement enacting some version of Ragnarok`s suggestion.

If I may offer, I propose that at the player`s request, if the enslaver VMs, anyone enslaved can request that they freeze the enslaver`s empire so base PR is 1000 or 1500 or whatever. When they log in, it`ll be like normal and they won`t know, the only thing they see is that they lose all their slaves.

That should stop the practice of VM enslavement for good, it`s easy, admins can do it, and it doesn`t require Stephen.

The last time battle arranging rules were posted they stated that you cannot ask someone to hit you specifically to enslave.

This might fall under battle arranging be carefully. If your master is in theirs not much you can do, eventualy you will be free as you will learn nothing happens very fast in this game.

flashy that is what i pmed him and it is within the rules aslong as he dont tell the person his fleet info. to the best of my knowledge.

Don`t get me on the subject of Slavers....on a social scale I`d place them lower than people having se* with cadavers.

Ullr...have someone hit you for enslavement to take you away. Keep at it until the one time his fleet doesn`t come and cover for you. Or his fleet PR is knocked down defending you against attacks.

I should ask...is that within the rules, especially in a permanent VM situation like this??

his master is VMing darkestguardian. you can`t get hit in VM

Ullr, their is the chance while you higher in the pr your master may get hit as well. Be patient and wait for the right opportunity.
