Enslavement

Is there a possibility we could change the way enslavement works? Maybe I`m not getting it, but it`s extremely difficult for me to get out of being a slave empire when my master empire has a power rating in the millions. Could this be changed to a lower level than 10 times the enslaving empire`s power? This system is just incredibly frustrating, as essentially I cannot beat enslavement unless I restart.
