I remember your UW well. You are right, it shouldn`t have succeeded :P you had a terrrrrrrible UW fleet, almost laughable (sorry, but hey...it worked out in the end for ya)
it succeeded because of a few things:
Noone high in the ranks hit you. AKA good diplomacy
lack of opposition
very few BTCs were thrown at you because...well, fuzzy had just UWed, and I had just spend turns to raise 5000 loyalty on 4 of my clusters. Gron was inactive etc...no one was there to hit you

his hit, using epidotes on your king actually guaranteed your success.
note that if ANY one of those things didn`t happen. you woulda been toast lol

Small playerbase is a huge boon to UW seekers. Even my UW, a collective UW with strafez kings making a huge part of the fleet, should have been taken down sooner than it was looking back.
I guess the main message of my last post is that: all odds are stacked against the UW holder....any advantage he gets, he is going to need it lol
then again, if people actually stopped abusing VM and actually used BTCs against a UW then maybe this would never happen.
For the sake of argument, my most recent fast UW should have failed due to the mass amounts of artifacts thrown at me, but the attackers got sloopy and messed up a few crucial hits.
Theoretically, there is no way a UW can go off if the defence is vigilient/knows enough about killing UWs. Unforunately that`s not always the case :P though I am proud of fast - they put up great fights! best anti-UW server atm.

For those of you not in the know, whenever a UW goes off on any server, no one would be able to use artifacts until the next daily server reset. If timed right, this would result in a potential 24 hours where artifacts could not be used to fight another UW.
Given that BTC are key to defeating a UW handily, and given the low player population, this is a significant advantage for the UW activator.

And that would indeed be a problem, if omegian were to coordinate his slow UW with DM`s normal UW in such a way that the last 24 hours of DM`s UW would not allow artifacts to be used. If that were the case, you could make a good case that bug exploitation was going on.

I got some BTC to waste on a real fight, don`t you worry about that. A maru UW would be disasterous because pyth or D Angels would be quite deadly in the hands of a tax terran or miner. I can guerentee that`s one of DM`s goals for this game.

Though seriously everyone, don`t pay this UW any heed. Save your BTCs for the next UW, which i guerentee will be a maru UW by either drunk or fuzzy. They`re already on the rich list, and when the UW goes off they`ll shoot right to the top of that rich list. THAT`s the one to fight and take down. Don`t waste artifact resources fighting this one.

I was making a point guys....wasn`t TRYING to mislead anyone, but i guess I can see how someone woulda came to the conclusion that I hit lord, lol.
the point is though...that starbases aren`t the omgz awesome UW ship that everyone claims they are, they can be tremendously weak against BTC and the same can`t be said with all other UW ships depending on the situation....
but of course, lord will probably succeed on normal moreso due to everyone being in VM :P
