we have a 500 land base planet which can be supported by 50 housing and 42 agri.. for example i have 5000 income on commerce..

i used parentheses to indicate subtraction

income:
commerce--- 5000
tax------------ 250
goods-------- (1000++)
infra---------- (500)
total income= 3750

now i transfer my 42 agri constructions into commerce and demolished my 50 constructions on housing.. i dont need food and consumer goods because i have no pop..

income:
commerce--- 5000
tax------------ 0
goods-------- 0
infra---------- (450)
total income= 4550

correct?

That isn`t the point MajorDinero, yongga plainly said that it isn`t about the food.
Without bringing in food costs, goods are always a net gain for your citizenry, it`s just that the profits from goods and the profits from taxes are kept separate. Hope that helps!

Which is only optimum when you max out commercial! I have a sneaking suspicion he isn`t close to maxing commercial ( :

Put 7 infra levels in housing, heard it here first!

however, if you are terran...you will also have to feed your population. Unless you have loyalty = 5000, food prices might need to be as low as 5-6 before you actually profit from CGs overall.

You will always make money over time buying consumer goods, they are sold on the market at 4 credits per unit and your population will pay 5 credits to buy them from you as you spend turns.

It`s maybe a good idea to keep 1 point in your houseing incase you ever change your mind. Once you`ve killed it, there`s no going back.

its not really about the food, ive been playing gc some time now and the question is "is it ok to destroy my housing infra to get rid of the consumer goods deduction??" because the tax you get from pop in terran is less than the sales of goods..

just put all your infrastructure into commerce and buy the food that you need. you will make more money that way.

or you could put all your infrastructure into food, and make even more money. but be market dependent

dont worry about consumer goods, you dont need them

and also lower pop means lower pr right??
