I`m not trying to defend any empire... jus want to state my point as a player..
I wonder how does vm at top 5 hurting the game. It`s all personal choice.. A player can vm at high pr doing nothing is the same as a player sitting at high pr doing nothing. Sure, you cant hit the player down in vm, but he also cant hit you when in vm.
You talk about wasting days at high pr waiting for the player to be out of vm. Again it`s personal choice. Doesn`t staying at high pr waiting for days for ppl to climb up and crush them a waste of time too. I don`t think so. It`s part of the effort to hold the rank, both staying at high pr waiting for ppl to climb up and waiting for ppl to come out of vm.
To me, VM is sort of ambush tactic in battlefield. I agree it`s not that brave to fight one-to-one openly, but it`s a strategy widely used nevertheless. Army gathering information about enemy location and prepare to ambush them. Knowing an army going to pass this location and prepare to hit them.. All this strategy aims to either reduce casulties or to fight a more powerful enemys effectively.
Wanting to rule to top 5 is a strategy. It`s has a huge benefits. But you can`t always let the big brother win everytime, jus becos there are more active, more resources, more great players in a federation. It`s a balance to the game to allow small teams or individual a chance to do something. One of the strategy is VM at high pr.
Yes, you can call that stragetry wherever names you want to. To me i`ll jus call that smart, understand your situation, not using eggs hit the rock, adaptable to use another strategy.
Choosing not to vm too at high pr is your choice too. Players who have huge support and resources did not vm jus becos they don have to. They can jus hit anyone that climb near them.. But essentially they are also vming, waiting and do nothing most of the time. they are not using turns to research or to fight. This does not help the game too since they jus wait and wait..
