Dig Time: Alternate Time Zones

So this has been brought up time and time again. It is about time that something is done about it.

There should be dig times for people on both sides of the globe. It is not balanced to have certain areas of the world that get an advantage in acquiring artifacts. Very few healthy individuals who live a normal life, in the Western Hemisphere, have the opportunity to dig very much.

One possible way I though of is to cut the normal dig time in half and separate the two halves by 12 hours.

(if you have the full dig time twice a day, I think it would drastically unbalance things because some people would hit both times and have twice the usual amount of artifacts)

Though if the usual people are only getting half the artifacts and that is going to change things as well. So what do you guys think is the best way to handle this and keep it fair and balanced?

I dislike it. Makes digging even easier to do than it already is. Though nice creativity.

I like suma`s approach. Not sure how to implement it though, automagically anyways.

This is a new idea, donno how difficult is it to immplement.

Merge uncommon and rare digging. Meaning equal chance of have uncommon and rare artifacts.

For RT, let`s have the digging time to be 45mins..Anytime you start to dig, you will jumpstart the special digging effect. For the next 45mins, you will have the chance to have uncommon and rare artifacts when digging. After 45mins, digging will get to normal.

This special digging effects will be reset everyday during server refresh.

This idea is good, becos player can actually choose when to dig. So every players can have a equal chance of digging rare/uncommon artifacts regardless of their timezone.

Yes, 1hr addition everyday would give everypone a shot in some day of the month.. but it might not be easy to track when is the dig time for certain day unless there is some sort of annoncement everyday.. also due to work plus sleeping and miscellaneous stuff, it will be around 18hrs plus where a normal player cant have access to gc... so when the dig time fall into that timezone, for the next 18days plus the player cant dig..

I dont see how it could be that hard to just have the dig times rotate around the clock one hour a day. For example now its at 3 tomorrow 4 next day at 5 etc etc. everyone will get a shot at arties no matter where you live. :)

Well, Stephen is actually working on changing GC. That`s the point of all the `events`. He`s trying to make a new admin panel, among other things. The dig times thing is supposed to be part of that. We`re just not sure if it will have to be something that bw manually changes or not.

That is great news Deil, let us hope that BW is able to get through Stevie`s thick skull. It still might help for us to brain storm different ways to make it happen, give Stephen some ideas, as he is not always the most creative soul around. Also if enough of us announce that this is what we wish it could encourage him to actually make it happen. So i still think it is very much worth discussing.

I`ll let you in on a little secret. The reason I came back to the game is largely because of what bw is trying to do about the dig times. He IS working on changing it. It IS a major point in what we want to fix in the game.

Fire away with your suggestions as you will, but be comforted by the fact that it IS in the works.

The very best would be to have it randomize the different dig times. would make it very difficult to find the rares and uncommons! but that will probably never happen because it requires stephen to actually do something constructive.

i second this motion by HoneyBucket{HH} again and again and again and again and again... since it`s been proposed so many times b4... :P

BUT i oppose the "half" part thing though... lol...
