Research beyond level 41

Ok, so I got to level 41 in Commercial. My total levels add up to 103. Suddenly it is taking 2500 turns to get a research in! It was 750 for the longest time....is it jumping to make up for something, like a retroactive change in the game....or does it jump like that at level 41....or is it at a total 103 levels that it jumps? Or what?! Is it a bug? Just curious.

It will stay 2500 per level for every level after 100 cumulative levels, at least until you hit the max, which is 255 cumulative levels.

once you hit 100 infra total , the research cost increases to 2.5k per lvl
