Fuzzy`s UW, Normal

cause you need to explore those 10K land like in the old days and what you have extra ship, do you think its fair. for a terran to have a zerg or protoss unit. and im not talking to an individual but to UWers fed.

To DM: I am not going to explain myself to you again -- HB explained *why* so many don`t like whats happening and Rag explained *how* you are able to do what you are doing. The only thing I would add is that I think HB missed the mark with the Hitler comparison. You are more like a two-bit mafia thug that doesn`t have the police to contend with any more.

To all: I think the essence of this argument has boiled down to what a player is "supposed to do" or what a player`s "job" is.

That may be what bothers me the most, that I am being told I am not dancing properly for the amusement of my game superiors. According to the older vets who have laid out their grand UW plans, I am supposed to provide for their amusement by properly opposing them.

Except that, I am a newer player still learning the game, far, far away from max levels, and without the RL time to use all of my turns or get up at 3am to dig. In short, I will *never* catch up.

So I feel like the slave-bait that has been pushed through the gate into the arena to fight the fully armed centurion for the crowd`s amusement.

When I don`t see the fun in this, I am a "whiner" and "not doing my job".

HB`s turn based VM comment is not an idle threat. You are driving new players from the game. Try to put yourself in my shoes. I have been playing on and off for a year. From my point of view, I am asking myself, is this fun? Is it worth the time and money?

We all like this game, or we wouldn`t bother to post.

HOWEVER: we can all talk about recruiting all we want, but until there is some hope for new players restored, who is going to want to stick around to dance for the amusement of the Old Vets Club?

just because they modify UW thing.. giving away rewards that imbalance the playing field. we are now force to cooperate with each other.. we are force to change our way of playing the game. or else they will just become stronger for each other UW. LOL.

seriously if there wasnt an UW reward, everything would be ok. they can UW all they want and restart the hard way.

why implement UW modification were theres few new players coming in and/or players playing the game.

How could you guys know what artis anyone has, that doesn`t make sense. o.o

It is the same argument as on ultra now, startopia had the artis, people like HB and Islander had the cash but no artis. And they never got to work together. You don`t need to have everything, you just need to be able to team up.

And guys, see when my last UW was, it is like 200-300 days ago. I could have done several in the meanwhile, but I didn`t(on ultra I could for sure for instance).

And about normal - this is the first time old time CW member has done UW since I have joined. So it is not like we do UWs every day there. We just thought we should do 3 UWs in a row with fuzzy and grant as our incomes complement each other and we are useless without each other.

lol HB that is an awesome idea. we would probably wind up all lord of the flys style and start cannibalizing. haha, I can picture loof with a weird look on his face like the guy in the dingy out at sea with no food.

Well that last part was not only directed to you... it was directed to you guys as a whole. So hopefully the ones planning will read it over and give it some thought. I have already had several people discuss with me the option of everyone taking max VM on turn based and see how you guys like playing with yourselves, as, more than likely, that`s what`s going to happen if things continue the way the are.

I think the triple on normal was our last currently planned attempt. Well, 12 hours from now, I think it`s our last currently planned attempt. ^^; I don`t know for sure though. I never get told anything unless I`m planning it myself or it`s about to happen. ^^; I`ve only been back playing for three weeks, so I really don`t know what all the plans are. Probably a safe bet though.

Yeah I agree, splitting up was not a good suggestion, it simply came out of frustration. I didn`t expect you to, nor should you. You are a team and work wonderfully together. And I understand as much as anyone that companionship is what keeps people involved in this game. If it was not for my mates I would have been gone years ago. Even when i am sick and fed up with this game, I stick around for my mates, I just can`t seem to leave them. I am sorry for even suggesting that.

Though I would love to see you guys fight each other just for fun, for a short period of time. Not for blood, not hunt each other, just casually spar if you will. The best against the best you could say. it would be like a world championship match. But yeah i don`t see that happening.

As for the UW"s... do you think that the MK\BR group would be willing to cease UW activity for some time, on turn based that is. Give people a break, let them enjoy the game without the worry or threat? Obviously we can`t demand this of you, but it is likely that if the overwhelming amount of UW`s continue that the activity of the turn based servers will continue to decline. Just something to keep in mind. All I ask is that you discuss it among yourselves and give it some real though.

Add omegian to that list too, for sure. As for Infernal, he`s got the best time zone of us all for digging, giving he lives close to server time. MK doesn`t really have many diggers... you live in the right time zone, loof, but you almost never dig... you prefer to fight. I`d dig sometimes but 4:30 am is a pain for a university student with early classes. Our diggers are mostly Infernal the beast, DM and you occasionally... Probably fuzzy. That guy is always on. ^^;

Anyways, HB... we could split up. But we don`t want to. Why should we have to split up because you guys aren`t doing your job? Part of what keeps us playing this game is the companionship and community we have together. We all bring each other`s game to a new level and keep it interesting. I rarely do much by myself. Loof and DM do quite a bit by themselves, but they are very good at directing traffic. DM keeps track of everything. I do a lot of long term planning. That`s just some of it. We all have our roles, and together we are much more than the sum of our parts. And we enjoy that.

As for dig times, this is a major push point on changes we are trying to make stephen do. There is a lot of change going on behind the scenes from what I`ve heard. I will talk to bw and see what I can make public (AKA has been approved and being worked on, unless it`s supposed to be a surprise for whatever reason.)

Well personally I don`t know what the deal is on Normal. My guess is that there are so many UW`s that people don`t want to use up all their arti`s just to fight each one as eventually they will run out of arti`s and you will keep doing UW"s. It`s probably because they are discouraged. I don`t think that GC should only be about starting and killing UW"s. I think they should be a once in a while, special event where people are willing to use everything they have to stop it. But when they are so often there becomes a point where if you stop one another pops up. It`s like hitting ground hogs that pop out of the ground with a hammer... after a while you are tired and you just don`t give a dam anymore.

As for Ultra, not many people I know have very many arti`s as none of us get to dig much. I personally am almost never awake for more than maybe an hour of common dig time which doesn`t give me the chance to fuse too many btc.

But either way, how about you guys hold off on UW`s for a while for the sake of the servers. Is that too much to ask? I`m not asking you to stop fighting or anything like that, just stop blowing up the server so consistently. Maybe you would get a better fight out of people and who knows you might even end up enjoying yourselves even more when people can afford to fight you; it might just benefit everyone in the end. That or we keep losing players that oppose you and you end up with the servers all to yourselves. But I don`t think anyone wants that.

yes im all for that, but as we can see on slow and a lot of other servers, you guys do dig, you do have more artifacts than us, we are only a few players not even close to half as you try to make it out to be, not even a fifth.

Yes about 70% of us can dig around midday, i myself can only dig some weekends when i don`t get too drunk, and tuesdays but yea thats at least something.

What i dont understand is that you are unwilling to use the artis that you do have to fight us, even sit out of dp with fleet and borders and say you cant do anything.

it might not be easy to kill a 70 mil uw fleet on normal, but sure as hell aint impossible, use a few btc to generate the cash and minerals and then what 10 could completely decimate fuzzy.

Yeah same here Uber, good point. I have never really been able to dig much, at least not at the rare hours. And I know that most of the MK bunch are in the UK time zones... which very much in itself unbalances things. So another solution here would be, what people have been saying for years, to have multiple dig times at the opposite ends of the clock to even things out. Unfortunately this is one fix that requires big Stevie. But maybe if we all made it clear enough we could get this implemented.
