UW bug

HB: stop being a cry baby. The reason why a button is implemented is obviously because it leaves a choice. Sounds to me like you are just embarrassed because CC got owned again.

OttO there is still a code of honor in war. You should have respect for your enemies if you ask me, as at times you are at their mercy. Just because there are examples of other similar situations in RL doesn`t make it right. Just because you can do it, doesn`t mean you should do it. Mainly what I am trying to get across is if you want respect and honor then you should act accordingly. And gloating for so long reflects neither quality. So do what you will but don`t expect others to think or speak highly of you.

*Shrugs* Honestly, it isn`t really that big of a deal. If you want the UW to be over already, do something about it. If it bugs you that much, keep hitting him.

The UW should hafta be used within 24 hours this would give the empire time to lord over people or whatever macho drivel they wanna do and it also wouldnt hold the entire server at its mercy

lets him do w.e he wants, he is allowed to wreak havoc on people, its a war game, whn korea has teh nuclear wepon doesnt mean they will use it, u know what i mean lol

Yes donster, there is something special about clicking that but, not having it automated, as you get to actually blow up the entire galaxy with a push of a button, it is incredibly satisfying. Also, another reason for the button could be so that you actually have to be present to activate it, you can`t leave with time left and have it happen while you`re afk.

I don`t think anybody is arguing that he HAS to do it - no need to argue the OBVIOUS. It`s just some would like him to get it over with so they can move on without this hanging over their heads. It is a legitimate "desire".

Why a button? Perhaps there are many reasons. Ya got to admit, there`s something special about actually clicking it instead of having the thing go automatically.

Mainly because it negatively affects play and is bad manners, as HB aptly pointed out.

There are things in every MMOG that are legal but unwelcome. Stephen allows spamming, but there are many players who have spent days and days devising ways to stop it because they find it so detestable.

I am satisfied with Urban`s note in this thread, I trust he will set off the UW soon.

Holding it this long, however, has been unusual and in bad taste.

If it were the case that the UW was supposed to end IMMEDIATELY after the 48 hours were up, then why is there a button? If Stephen wanted UWs to go off automatically, he`d have made it that way. Since there is a button and text saying "do you want to blow up now" it means that not only can he and is he allowed to, but it is, in fact, something that he is in fact expected to consider choosing.

After all, just because your scientists finally completed a weapon of mass destruction, why should you immediately use it, rather than holding it and wreaking havoc on everybody?

Delioche, just because he can and is allowed to, doesn`t mean he should.

I agree to a certain extent, that he has every right to, mainly because he can. But at the same time he should have respect for the rest of the server and not drag it out after a certain point. There is no reason to do such and it`s just poor manners if you ask me.

Also, other players have every right to be upset and frustrated about what is going on as it unnecessarily effects their game play negatively.

If he can sit there for days without pressing the button, why not? It`s obviously a pretty effective method of screwing with you. And nowhere in the game rules does it say that a UW is EXACTLY 48 hours. It just says that you have to survive that long. He has chosen to survive longer.

donster there is no point in attacking him anymore... if he is dropped he will just activate it whenever he chooses, so really there is nothing we can do right now.

yea, if I wasnt broke id have hit him for sure but...im only a month old :( and cant really do anything. I dont think this has ever happened before that I know of, but i wonder if it will get deactivated if he doesnt boom soon. But guess I explore some good planets til he hits the button then :)

I cant use my Capsule Lab, I have no idea if I should be exploring or researching or fleeting up (it all depends on the resource scarcity/plenty as a result of the UW)

Most of us value our W/L ratio, and I probably speak for most people in that I dont want to spend the next week putting up 5M fleets and hitting Urban`s UW.

What point is he trying to make? What good is this doing for the game by not detonating? How do I explain what is happening to the new people in my fed, a few of whom are fleeted up and playing regularly?

If Urban wants to prove the server doesn`t care, I think he is using the wrong method and just making things worse. We are supposed to be encouraging new players and trying to keep this game alive.

I am pissed at the rest of the server for not fighting, and I am awfully sorry I didnt have any BTCs, but is this our punishment, for not being good players? This is ridiculous.

I sent him his congratulations, and I meant them. Now I am asking that he detonate the UW immediately, so that play can resume.

Hes just biding his time, who cares really.

So is it not a successful UW until he hits the button? If that`s the case, maybe we should all start attacking him.
