UW bug

The new goal post on Ultra is not if you can stop a UW, but how long someone can hold out before they have to blow the server. It`s an interesting metric.

UW taken for granted??? lol can you see how many players still playing the game? look at Ultra top 50 and you can see empires below 100KPR compared that to other servers (excepts slow cause of the recent UW) and US hadnt activate it yet. Thats how dead it is.. few opposition against bigger empires (few with lucas empire). and those who keep on playing it are being driven away. they hostage a dead server.. it must be fun, and its legit.

UW is a walk in the park these days (high friends, high infra research etc) not much politics stirring things up.

While I can see a place for the new found power of a delayed UW, I see this partifular use of it as more of a stifling agent in an already abandoned game. After all, the only reason it is so powerful on Ultra is because the opposition are too few. This is where I agree with Feanor.

all of you are having some kind of points in this matter... and frm my own view, this is a blessing in disguise... why? lately UWs are being taken for granted... now it served us right for not fighting all out during the 48 hours coz we take it easy... out attittude, after the dust settled, it`s time to rebuild again... but what to rebuild when we can`t start anything and waiting endlessly until the big boom...

i don`t think this is some kind of abuse BUT one of the advantages for being a winner... we just assumed the UW will blown immediately all this while... UrbanSprawl is taking a different approach... congrats for thinking outside of the box... sadly, we saw this too late and it`s all up to the winner now... our mistake is taking things for granted...

starting frm now on, we don`t see UW in the normal way anymore...

Success in this game is now measured by how much hate can be ignited?
How far will we move the goal posts? Until we can justify any action?

Breeding ill will towards one another, with this game of ours so balanced on the precipice of extinction, is a mistake. When people start to perceive a game as imbalanced, and their pleas for change are not met, they will leave. And they have left.

Just keep in mind Deiloche.. Some of us would like to join the self annointed gods among those who have completed UW`s. That feat is impossible if we cannot fuse arties.

While most of this is nothing to do with me i agree with Deils last point completely. If this has annoyed enough people to get a bit of hatred going and make ultra a more active server it has certainly succeeded in something whether the plan itself is successful or not.

1 thing i disagree on with Feanor`s last post is the implication that anaboliking feds was a bad thing, it was a big loss to the game when it was removed to never return and a large area of the game has been lost because of it. As a fed leader back then you had to be careful about who you let in etc to protect yourself, during a war the ultimate victory was the infiltrate the enemy fed and take it for your own or destroy it.

Obviously the losers in those situations got annoyed but in a war game anger is a good emotion as it fuels fighting and makes good wars.

Nope, been a while since I took introductory logic. Fortunately, your fallacy didn`t require a more robust system to disprove.

Something like this does NOT hurt the game. If anything, it helps it. Look at this thread. Look at the response, the questions, the accusations, the public movement it has caused. Have you seen GC this active lately?

It`s good to see some passion in this game. Maybe ultra will be more exciting when I`m done. I think I`m nearly in DP. Enjoy the exploring while it lasts.

Deil, it`s great to see you do so much as a game guide to make the game so enjoyable, RME.

I`ve already stated clearly and twice in another thread that my position is that this precedent is bad for the game because it frustrates and degrades play.

While you may have proven that my type protest is illogical, gratz to you for that, you are unable to disprove the logic of protesting against something that hurts gameplay.

That is what amazes me about your position. As a game guide, you should IMHO be at least wary of something that hurts gameplay.

Were you big on anabollicking back in the day? Was that big fun for you, too? Were the people who complained just whiners and quitters?

You err. You need to re-evaluate your position on this.

I do know what is going on. Only because I guessed. But as you may have noticed, I`m a member of BR. Just `cuz I had to figure it out on my own doesn`t mean I`m gonna go spilling state secrets!

As for doing something just to get a rise out of people being childish... eh, sorta. But frankly, here`s the question. What are you getting out of this game? Sure, we know what I`m getting out of it, being UW king and all. But for those of you without a UW to your name. What`s the point? Just existing? Why not do something "different"? He UWed, that`s all fun and games... why not try something else? I have 8 UWs. I`ve wanted to pull a stunt like this for a while, never got around to it. ^^; Though I wanted to pull the stunt simply FOR the childish desire to get a rise out of people. And why not? It`s as good a reason as any in this game.

Deiloche. Since you seem to KNOW what is going on over there on Ultra, what is going on?

Why would anyone do something like letting a UW sit unfinished?

It sounds like someone doing something just because he can so he can get a rise out of people.

My post is largely because of Feanor. Those of you attacking and not whining, major cudos.

Feanor`s ridiculous logic that you shouldn`t attack the UW `cuz we want you to keep attacking it... I`m at a loss. I apologize to anybody who is upset with my anti whining stance. I guess Feanor`s ridiculousness got under my skin. My response was (as should have been obvious) aimed at him. At least make sure your logic doesn`t contradict itself before you say it.

Anyways, a logical proof that Feanor`s logic cannot in any case be true:
Feanor Assumption 1: MK wants to keep the UW going on forever
Feanor Assumption 2: MK wants everybody to keep attacking the UW
Feanor Conclusion: We shouldn`t give MK what they want, stop attacking the UW

Let assumption 1 = A, assumption 2 = B, assumption 3 = C.

Obvious fact, and therefore a tautology: Urban does not have infinite funds, the server has more cash and turns than he does and nothing MK does can change there.

Note that this tautology brings to light an obvious relationship between A and B. It is therefore true that, in the long term, A = !B.

So we now have A & !B = C

Well, given that A & !B is a contradiction, we can immediately point out that the argument at hand is completely ludicrous and logically unsound.


If you`re going to whine about something, Feanor, pick one of them, or maybe something new altogether. But changing tact from "this is a forever UW" to "they want us to hit it lets not" just makes you look like all you want to do is whine. And that`s just pathetic.
