Getting rid of morrons

Hey, here`s an idea to get rid of all these guys on the chat / forum that keep being annoying but never cross the line enough to justify a blacklist : you flag these people as "dang annoying", and make it so that users flagged this way will experience frequent lags and timeout errors.

The point of this is to secretly drive these people out of the game. Or at least to piss them out, haha. The lag should not be too important though, otherwise people would find out about it.

Ok that suggestion is more or less a joke, but if I was developing a game (well, actually I am, but that`s beyond the point) and the forum started looking like this one (I`m talking about the posts here, visually I wouldn`t make it that ugly anyway =P), with people endlessly whining instead of posting constructive comments, I`d seriously consider implementing that kind of solutions.

420Renegade, a strategy game, like spacefed in some sense, but more realistic, real-time, and focused on ressource management and cooperation.

We`re still far from the first public beta, and it will be in french, so I guess you can forget about it ;-)

Sol, I know this won`t happen, the main purpose of that suggestion is for you to have something else to read than the usual "what do i do?????".

By the way, I meant *simulated* lags and timeouts. Something like :

if($user->isAnnoying()){
sleep(2) // wait 2 seconds
}
// Normal code goes here

Nothing very hard to code.

As for this claim "How annoying someone is is a matter of opinion.", that`s what you say to the masses, but I know as an ex-mod that there are times where the whole staff (and with them a lot of casual players) is pissed off at a player because of his general morronic behaviour and there`s not much you can do about it.

Thinking about it, I think one of the current admins would probably have had to wait a good 2 minutes for any page to load if that system had been implemented a few years ago =P

Iounno. I think thatd be pretty funny. Though impossible to do yes, It`d still be a good laugh regardless.

And If I may toss a query @ Baley, just what are you devolping eh?

Thre are a few reasons that wont happen.

1. It would be ridiculously difficult to code.
2. Timeout and laging is dependant on internet connection.
3. How annoying someone is is a matter of opinion.
4. GC hasn`t got a proper update since a long time ago.
5. It just wont happen.

Also although technically it is a sugestion it isn`t really realistic so please close the thread as soon as possible to ensure there is plenty of room for proper questions!
