How high can food be for a tax miner to make a profit?

120k land @ 101 infra was 59 mill income per turn. Six u.larges and a c2. Admittedly, I had land boosts given to my planets, however... a tax miner can still be brutally effective following the same formula of planets, as they never have to fight for borders and can do whatever they like, given that enough food is produced.

Tax Miner is by far the best miner income.

The market dependancies and high base PR ar all but tiny irritances on the huge income you can make. and as far as the market if u keep well stocked up you will be fine. And once you get past around 100K land on housing then u will be the person buying out the market.

here is a handy hint tho:- incresase loyalty on your large land c1`s BEFORE covering it in housing. it works out a lot cheaper in the long run. Also put all colonies loyalty up to 5K for max income

... I`m afraid the Exule is woefully ignorant on the processes of a tax miner. On ultra, prices were at 20 for months and I was still the richest player there, with less than 40 planets.

Without goods, food is still SLIGHTLY profitable at 37 per unit of food... with goods, slightly profitable at 38 per unit of food. This is when the miner is fleetless, of course.

So... food at 20 is barely halfway up the ladder...

This is by far the most lucrative possible income in the game. If you want further information on tax empires, send me a PM on ultra... I will be glad to give you more information on it.

There is no type of player more dangerous than a tax miner with a big c2 and a bunch of u.larges... one like that can explore for their borders for a pittance of turns and makes such massive amounts of cash that it is really completely irrelevant what they build for a fleet. I went from less than 100 billion credits to maximum credits in a couple months on ultra server, while building up a fleet... my UW there ended up costing me over 1.4 trillion credits.

Well, lower base and less need for land is a big plus for many players. Although you could still make a lot of cash at high prices, it still has its downsides as we both said.

Exule..Think for a moment.. :D Tax makes more than 2x mineral or goods miner, WITH food at 15. So your horribly wrong in saying anything further than 10-12 is bad. Even 20 can still make as much as mineral and good.

But atm Tax isn`t the way to go to help the economy. Goods is. They are in short supply and very much needed. Tax has all those disadvantages such as dependancy on market, someone buys it out and ur screwed for a bit...high base pr etc.

Tax miner can make profit at higher price levels than other tax races, especially if food is low priced. I`m thinking you`re going to have trouble if it goes any further than 10-12 though. If food runs dry and it goes for 20 per, you might be in a bit of trouble. I`d recommend mineral and good producing miner, but that;s just me :O
