As the Collective were searching for resouse they ran into the richest race the A.Miners,being one of the most powerful race in the galaxy the Collective (seeing that they had a budent of minerals,CG,and money) tryed to force them to bow down to them. The A.Miners fought back leading into the great Miner-Collective War
Yet as the Collective were winning the war The A.Miner never gave up and begin one of the richest race turned everything around resulting the war in a draw. As Collective forces started to crumble under the battle they gave up and left knowing there was no way to win without as much resouse that the A.Miners had.Both races faced great loss.
As the Collective pulled out of the war. Yet the draw made the Collective suffer greatly and not begin able to expore only made things worse. Your job as the new Empire Leader is to bring the Collective into there era of power once again.
