PM Doesn`t Flash... Solution..

...i noticed that when i relogin to another server/s few times, PM that i received in RT didn`t flash... how i knew this? coz i expeced some PMs and immediately after i relogin into RT then i don`t see any yellow blinking PM, i go into the PM box and i see un-open PMs....

now in order to avoid complication with the GMAs, i think we should check our PM box constantly regardless it`s blinking or not...

I would think nedflanders could be suspended just for his choice of empire name.

lmao... Ragnarok... i thought we`re suppose to login immediately after being logged out all this while just to show it`s not a bot... how wrong i was... lol...

that`s fine. i have know the admins are just doing their job and they work hard for little compensation etc etc. I just hope that they are more accountable in their actions since I was suspended for 2+ days for absolutely no reason. (I had to ask for evidence they had against me, and point out to them that the evidence didn`t indicate anything)

Or rather "wait a couple minutes to log back in after being logged out" (if you want, and paranoid about such things)

Chances are you probably did things that mimicked the patterns of cheaters without meaning to, and a trigger happy guide or admin jumped the gun a bit. Even though I make the admins to be angels without a trace of imperfection sometimes, the reality is that they ARE human and make mistakes. The idea is to make those instances extremely rare (while catching the real cheaters) so everyone has more fun.

I would say it`d help to have a "how not to look like a cheat" guide (for example, wait a couple minutes before trying to log in so you don`t like like a bot that logs back in automatically), but then that would just help novice cheaters be able to hide their movements. >_>

right, so what about that one time that I got suspended, without a warning or a PM from the admins? And it turned out later that there was NO evidence of cheating whatsoever?

in RL, we might bring it up to a tribunal or comittee on how the bot-checking methods work... but since this is SFGC and to avoid others to find ways or loopholes over the bot-checking, i guess it`s a secret to only selected few... lol...

Yes, and see that`s where some people would get confused thinking "if it`s ok during overmind project periods, why not everyday gameplay?". So again, thread sticky about rules is needed to fix and clear up any confusions and edited as the staff interpretation changes.

There is valja and that includes full proof existing of botting before someone is suspended there are many things which go into bot checking which however im not going to go into.. however no one is ever suspended just for not reading/replying a pm

would require stephen to make that bit clear but your not allowed to have more then one person taking turns on your account (well there is one exception to that rule)

when i started this thread, it`s a reminder to us to be more vigilant to avoid any complication with the authority... not my intention to make it flaming thread against bot-checking thru PMs...

Maraudian has sent PM numerous times on me previously... what i respect about him, he waited patiently for a certain period b4 checking into my acc... there were few times, i was logged in outside at any wifi hotspots especially at starbucks or when i`m using mobile phone and i didn`t log out properly...

there was an instance Maraudian PMed me just after i went off frm Mc D without logging out properly and when i reached home, i was panic to see his PM... but luckily, he checked that my turns didn`t move (during the period that i was on the way back) and perhaps he checked my IP address too so he accepted my explanation that i was outside... frm there on, i`ll try my best to log out properly at outside wifi spots...

bot-checking thru PM is one of the ways the admins could verify who`s behind the computer BUT it could be wrong sometimes... what we could hope, there`s a proper system and protocol for GMAs to follow b4 persecuting the offenders...

Nothing against current staff badwolf. I just see this issue pop up sometimes and it disturbs me when I see threads like the "Umm game admin hello im here?" thread (since then it`s been archived and edited).

"On a further note anyone but yourself playing your account (Weather it be brother/sister/cat/dog/frog/bot is also against the rules.. as it is not your work on your OWN empire)"

Great. Fantastic. Couldn`t agree with you more. Could we add that exact phrase to the below URL that defines cheating? I think it would be a fantastic update. Or maybe have a sticky on the forum with those exact words and anything else that comes up as to what exactly constitutes cheating (and updated as needed and as new cases come up). That way we have it up there in black and white for all players new and old so that they don`t get schwacked for breaking rules cuz "they didn`t know"

Whats Wrong With The Admins There are only 100 people active on this game its not worth baning the players for dumb split this is crazy might as well ban everyone and get it overwith
Ive played this game for 4 years if the people who have quit ever came back thay would all say this game has gone down hill and have hit rock bottom I feel sorry for all the good players that pay money and have put so mutch time in this game just to get band by a simple pm...
I dont know what to say im speachless...... You Might as well ban me for reading the form because im usually on the form reading usually takes longer than 10 mins sometimes longer so probly wile im typing this my time is ticking away... i may be eating supper for over 10 mins and get band for that who knows are yall admins so mesed up in the head yall dont know whats wrong... Everyone just click on your pms every 5 mins to make shure ur not suspected of botting...

First people are not banned they are suspended until they speak to me to discuss what they are suspended for..

Second no one is suspended without proof in other words if your suspended for botting.. you are botting you are passing turns while clearly not there i cannot make it anymore simple then this.. no one is suspended for ignoring a pm.. while passing turns will just lead to the actual bot check methods itself or if they arent passing turns made a note of and moved on from

Third less players is no excuse not to follow the rules that is FAR from fair to the players around in GC.. on any server for any reason there is NEVER any good reason at all to cheat it only hurts the game further and rules will continued to be enforced as long as GC exists

Fourth this is the LAST i want to see of this if i see any more i will gladly bring back the old rules of turn suspensions for fourm offenses
