this is the reason why most miner stockpile the minerlas.. and only have enough cash on them to fight at all times lol

Simple + effective solution
1. Browse the ranks for a.miner
2. pm a.miner (and be nice) and ask what type of mineral he produces and can he sell some
3. Wait for reply
4. watch the market

Why don`t we open a new race spike up there mineral income 2x miners is or higher but make the race harder to play with new ships very expensive ships and suck up a load of minerals so the race could balance out?

There used to be a lot more minerals on the market, I remember times when it would be down to 660 per, and buying it out would be difficult, sometimes costing more than 1t to do. That wasn`t that long ago was it??? Only a year or two??? *starts getting his years mixed up*

Gradual - whenever you dont feel like fighting as a mineral miner - just climb to a couple of hundred mil PR bases and sit there and do some digging and exploring.

And isn`t the fact that minerals are always in demand a proof that the market will nok adjust itself in terms if producers and consumers? At least it tells me that there is a whole lot more factors than just the production and consumption that determines the amount of suppliers at each race.

Any server work to fixing race issues requires stephen to do some major work, which lets face it he aint doing crab. GC has better luck dying off before he comes back to improve something major around here.

I know Gradual... I highly doubt any races incomes will ever be edited. I was just proposing it, because, if people were allowed to reset infra and a million other things, it would go a long way toward solving the mineral shortage/blackmarket issues.

Meh, I ain`t changing from tax to mineral, that`d take restarting, and I like being 2k+ old :P I don`t like fighting, and the high planet and cluster count that high class mineral miners need *nods to Pete* requires fighting, since exploring is out.

Ya. You can make a much larger income as a mineral miner than a tax miner. A mineral miner with a base PR of 500k and max infrastructure will make about 200 mil per turn. Can you beat that income/basePR as a tax miner?

Gradual, when you have max credit reserves and you can raise as much money as you need in 15 minutes selling minerals why do you need positive income to fight? I spent a year and a half as A. Miner on RT, and much longer on Slow, I know a bit about the race.
And pardon if tax really is the only way a. miners can fight, well minerals are the only way the rest of the server can fight... lol XD

Honestly i don`t understand why people complain. Yes it is not possible to buy as much minerals as you like at any time you need it. In fact you have to check the market now and then.

But the reality is that you can easily find a few couple of minerals of each type during one day if you like to. All it takes is a little work from you checking the market now and then.

Secondly. What do you think happens when miners like I start maxing out my minerals - this will happen soon for me.

I wouldn`t touch a-miner tax rate unless you want a lot of angry miners storming your door or storming out the door in protest. Of course, if your goal is to depopulate GC even further.....

Taking away max cash would just be crazy, It would mean a lot more UWs, ones that couldn`t be stopped, because people would be at max pr and still be able to build more ships do to their massive credit reserves.

Blazed, do people actually buy minerals to stay off the rich list so that they don`t get dineroed?? Huh, I never have...*waits to get hit with a couple dineros* :P Then again, I don`t think I have many, if any, enemies, it`s not like I`m going out and enslaving people. Just giving away good planets when I get them, which recently hasn`t been too often.


I just happened to see your post before I posted mine EnderWiggin. Tax is the only way that a-miners can fight, and not go into negative income, and you want to take that away because you want minerals??? *points to the top of his post* That results in less people playing. I know I`d stop playing in protest at the obvious nerf to the entire a-miner race.

:) oooo i stirred up something here... it would of course be unfair to existing Miners and I would only want to see it implemented if an equivilant compensation could be offered.(like an infra restructure, although I know that has been shot down before because of practicality and/or possibility issues...lol)
That being said, it would probably go a long way in solving the mineral issues in the market, in fact if all races incomes were rebalanced it would be best. Unfortunately we all know that will not happen.

Lastly, the food market would recover. eventually it would rebalance itself and the market would be healthier. And CrazyMav, don`t be silly this isn`t about .

Another longer term solution would be to raise max mineral prices to encourage more miners to go mineral, but that would have less of an effect.

1. How much do you think it would affect the food consumption if tax miners were decreased?
2. Do you think people who has chosen to be a tax miner would convert to mineral miner or another race, or just stop playing the game?

taking away the effects of the dinero artifact would help a little bit. I know plenty of people who stock up on mins cause they don`t want to get dineroed when they hit the rich list.
