Stepping Down as Admin

due too the serious nature of certain things discovered recently i am left with no choice but to step down as admin in hope of this forcing stephen to take it seriously and act upon it as swiftly as possible if he wants me back.

even though its easier to just replace me than find and fix the issue at hand i can atleast live in hope.

a small insight for this would be an empire found in slow who gained over 5 years worth of turns in infra materials artifacts etc etc within an hour , who we found coincidently and never set off any alarm bells.

with no method to track or stop such a person from doing it again im sure you can see my angle

stephen`s replies to this issue is " yawn , im not interested " and " get back to me when you find out how hes doing it "

unable to understand the fact we found this guy from a fluke and have no such powers to " find out " all i can do really is continue wasting my time when 99% of you could find out how this is being done and do it yourself without getting caught.

so as im not an admin i pray you all do so and save yourselves 20 years of turns within an hour , of course if you wish to tell us how its done so we can handle the issue that would be nice too.

i hate cheating and i think the above is extreemly out of order from stephen.
we know hes lazy , we know he doesnt care that much for us... but the above is waaaay overkill.

if stephen takes this seriously and the problem is fixed then of course i would be happy to take the position of wasting my time helping gamestotal. untill then christmas has come early for 90% of you.

hmmm, guess I can live with 30 turns and a slower turn rate until Stephen shows some love! not calling it a boycott, just saving a few $ untill....

I can`t blame you Maraudian. Stephen just doesn`t care and I don`t know what on earth he`s doing every day, but he should be ashamed of himself.

Thanks for investing insane amounts of time in this game. Hopefully you don`t have the feeling that it was for nothing, at least my idea is that it isn`t.

Man that is just straight fuked up... I have to say that I wont be sticking around if Stephen can`t grow a pair and AT LEAST fix this problem...

holy, wow that program is wicked easy to use ... yeh and u can prob do alot of stuff with it depends on how u use it lolllllll... but why doesnt stephen ban the not-smart.. like he should care.

i can see his code and its not bad the only thing is there are programs that force the game to accept the data they give and if you match it right, then u can alter your account anyways you want

you enter script and it dupes the server into believing `x` amount of time has passed... or something like that; I`m no expert.

I don`t want to through any names out, but on MSN a few of the `older` players said they`ve done it before. TBK/Sk8land did it with Mysql injection.... just though I`d let you know.

most likely it is somone messing with the turn codes if your using javascript for them then there realitively safe if not then theres a cope things you could do ssl encript your servers i also noticed that sometims some of the help links dont engage packet editors most likely tho once i reasearch the full site code ill probably see how they did it

Well Mara i hate to see you have to step down if there is anyway i can help let me know. As for the game i am with all of you who are trying to help out this situation. I say its time to speak up as a group of gamers and tell The owner that we really need some of these things fixed. he might be able to ignore 1 person but if a whole game all servers i mean get together and start making a stink about it then something will have to be done.

Just point me in the right direction and ill be with you all.

For those of you who think stephen will see reason by just talking to him, you have never talked to him, his net has issues, or he can`t connect or somethings always wrong when it comes to fixing things, or he fixes it and nothing has actually been done. So you know nothing of stephen. He does nothing, the admins do all the work, the paid staff knows nothing of the game and lets the cheating continue due to bribery. This becoming a new low? No this is the ultimate low.

I`ll support Maraudian, been helped a good many times. I also have paids on 3 TB servers plus usually a year paid on RT. If we lose a very active and helpful admin honestly what is going to keep this game running.

Please, I write very few in forums but Maraudian announce is very very worrying. I can`t believe we won`t support more active him.

as a player I want to go as far as maraudias as admin, the only action I can do is LEAVE the game and everyone knows that some of vet players leave the game the game is dead, at least in turn based servers

maybe is hard to stephen have a hard code without holes but is easy do some reports to check impossible stats or suspicious actions. As programmer I can say this will take few hours of coding.

If stephen don`t want to hear maraudian this time I say we must support maraudian 100%.

I know maybe some of my enemies will be glad I leave the game but seriously:

Maraudian please, you can use my name (if anyone more join of course, if not stephen will laugh)

Players who will leave if stephen don`t do nothing this time:

Atractor - vet on 3 servers. All paid accounts

The cheaters are easy enough to spot. Empire less than a week old with 1 planet and a PR in the millions. I see them all the time.

I think most of us will be sorry to see someone go who has put in so much effort to stamp out cheating. Serious cheating will have a very negative effect on this game and will ultimately destroy it.
I hope common sense prevails and Stephen acts and you are reassured to stay on as a much valued admin. And this is`nt an example of a player sucking up to admin for support - I have not always seen eye2eye with the admins (especially Lothor!) but do recognise the great and very necessary work they put in.

If he understands the code and Stephen`s coding flaws, meh then im all for the volunteer, however I seriously doubt someone would look at the code and say its a royal mess that could use an entire new mainframe and rewrite. Just saying my 2 cents
