Stepping Down as Admin

due too the serious nature of certain things discovered recently i am left with no choice but to step down as admin in hope of this forcing stephen to take it seriously and act upon it as swiftly as possible if he wants me back.

even though its easier to just replace me than find and fix the issue at hand i can atleast live in hope.

a small insight for this would be an empire found in slow who gained over 5 years worth of turns in infra materials artifacts etc etc within an hour , who we found coincidently and never set off any alarm bells.

with no method to track or stop such a person from doing it again im sure you can see my angle

stephen`s replies to this issue is " yawn , im not interested " and " get back to me when you find out how hes doing it "

unable to understand the fact we found this guy from a fluke and have no such powers to " find out " all i can do really is continue wasting my time when 99% of you could find out how this is being done and do it yourself without getting caught.

so as im not an admin i pray you all do so and save yourselves 20 years of turns within an hour , of course if you wish to tell us how its done so we can handle the issue that would be nice too.

i hate cheating and i think the above is extreemly out of order from stephen.
we know hes lazy , we know he doesnt care that much for us... but the above is waaaay overkill.

if stephen takes this seriously and the problem is fixed then of course i would be happy to take the position of wasting my time helping gamestotal. untill then christmas has come early for 90% of you.

i did learn to program , i went to col specificly to learn ste`s code and work for him , for free too...

his staff refused to give code and / or snippets of it for x area about 100 or so times when i offered to do this and that for them...

Why should Maraudian work for free? And it`s probably not that Stephen can`t do this fix because of life obligations, it is because he just doesn`t want to. As the creator of this game, he needs to respond to these sorts of things when they happen. As CrazyMav said, it could be as simple as adding a few lines of code. Finding an admin that is programmer savvy and expecting them to work for free is just wrong in my opinion (good luck with finding one).

Vendeen I am with you on that idea, it would make the game way better and would also keep the income that the owner likes to get from the game its a win win situation. Well except for Mara who might have to do more work but if he want to then i guess everyone would be happy.

I vote that admins get the power to actually fix this kind of stuff when it happens. Screw waiting forever and a day on Stephen to do something.

He`s been sitting back enjoying the nice income from these games for years, while putting forth minimal effort to keep them alive. I remember when Stephen actually talked to players and took their suggestions to heart. Now that he has a family, he obviously can`t do it, and needs to pass on the torch to the admins.

I`m not suggesting direct root server access, but it would be nice if they could at least view and submit code for the paid staff to look over and implement. This would obviously mean that said volunteer administrator would have to know what he or she is doing, however. I`m 99.5% sure Maraudian would be qualified for paid staff, why not let him do their job for free? I know he would, because he loves us that much. ;)

Stephen would still get his nifty little income and we`d get updates and events. We`d all be happy. Hell, we might actually get more players this way, and more nifty little incomes from the game that once dominated spacefed/gamestotal.

I think Stephen just needs to give up this online life and get a real job. Apparently he is not interested in these games as much as he use to. Years ago he did it for fun and wanted to thave friends play it. But now it seems like he doesnt even want to look at these games and do something to help out the cause. THat is why many older players have left. THey saw that Stephen lost interest and began to leave due to the owneer of the game not supporting it as much as he did when it first began. So he really needs to figure out what to do. He either needs to kill the games completely or actually do something to help make the game a better experience.

u funk i may know how it was goe buti wont post it on here for fear it would be abused by other players. a small bith of copying and editing anf hard if not imposable to trace, if its what im thinking. as i did the fing im thinking of on runescape a few years ago and never got caught.

cheating spoils the game for urself and others playing it. defeats the whole object.

my main goal in this is to let you guys know , someone can gain 5 years of perminent online time / turn usage , with a blink of your eye

thats 50 years or so to someone who isnt already a cheat / botter

why even cheat in such a way when a better method exists.... shame on you botters !!!

i detest cheating in online games. although i do understand people in this game have it hard and resort to such methods ( such as dig times ) its still no excuse to resort to such.

i myself will probably give up waiting for the problem to be fixed next week and move my focus to WoW or such. or even focus on real life.

i think those who stand by me in thinking that this is a blatant and obvious top of the list priority for stephen would be best to stop paying. as for playing its your time wasted compaired too theirs

I`ve got a 12 month Gold Starter with 120 days or so left that I won`t renew if Mara isn`t back. I don`t mean to threaten or be rude, but I think this problem needs to get fixed. Like MirrorUniverse said, there are plenty of other options. A lot of effort has been put in over the years to prevent cheating, and we can`t just turn a blind eye to this problem, whoever the player is.

I`ll give Stephen one week to see something happen and Maraudian return as admin if he wants the job back. Otherwise I`ll go. There`s plenty of other games to play, both on and off line. It is truely a shame that this is Stephen`s attitude, and I can`t blame Maraudian for stepping down. If I do wind up leaving...well, its been fun.

I`m saving my money too. I almost got a year but lucky I just went for a month instead. So I`m guessing the event is on hold or over? It also sucks that someone with just pure skill and timing can make an empire just as capable or better without cheating... It`s part of the FUN of the game

stephen knows the game will be as dead as ancient worlds in a while so why should he do anything to keep honest people onside.Its a real sahame that treg ,pandy, maraudian and many others did so much work for so little. I for one apreciate their efforts.
