and well since terrans have been largely ignored through these updates and nerfs, aside from minor emp tweaks and the Fenrir we decided to give them a face lift by nerfing or improving something...so being kind we decided one of the few things terrans lack is a usable starbase. So one got made.
Go play with them, comment on them, and remember they`re possibilities not actualities....or are they?

I tested the upkeep rather fast in my head when I saw it. The new version that is suggested has an upkeep that is 45% bigger than what it used to be.
The use of SBs usually is to base up as much as possible in DP, and then leave DP with max turns, and build a lot of cap ships as that is the only way to keep decently up with the guardians. When you base up, everyone else will notice it, so it is not really a secret that you got 4 mil PR of chirons. The old version was good because its range is as big as all the cap ships and because it is able to defend against strafez and borrs. You have to consider were it is in the fleet when hitting.
Using SBs for anything but protecting the turns that is put into the rest of the fleet, is something that will only happen at RT IMO. At TB this is yet another viral nerf.

Will the Material cost be the same to build a Chimaera : Terran Metal 450, Red Crystal 200 ,
White Crystal 200 ,Rutile 200 , Composite 200 ? Looks like a beefed up Tyr with 500 Scanner.

Well... At first galance, second glance and third glance it looks like a major nerf!! And I don`t think it will ever look like anything but that! Keep it as it is now, it already got the upkeep nerf a few days ago. Virals can`t take anymore nerfs now.
Terrans could use a usable SB though. But the BR seems rather low. 35k is more reasonable, or maybe give it a BR of 2.

No @ The Chiron Nerf.
I`ll take 10 of the Chimera. To test, of course, I`m not interested in purchasing at this point. However, their specifications look nice, and I believe it could be of use to me in the future.
