Terran starbase

Any long time terrans want to comment? Or are you used to your current stuff. Gronoria if you see this, comments would be appreciated.

Well there should be a decent one ... Miners have 2 good SB`s, virals still have the awesomeness of chiron, collectives have MoW which seems decent (I don`t understand the change in this case).

I still remember when the scorpion came out, and being chuckled at how lacking in awesomeness it was.

Just thoughts: Terrans had their build rates severely cut (herc and nirv cut). So how about decent build rate, decent ships?

Chimaera take two:
Weapon [slightly under 0.5-1]
Energy 8000 [vs a pitiful 2000]
Kinetic 16000 [vs 4k]
Hull 50000 [vs 80000]
Range 7
Pr 50431 [current]

Mods (upped it`s strengths a little, and increased it`s weaknesses. Bear in mind I cut out a chunk of the hull
+45 / +50 / -30 / -45
vs original of
(+35 / +40/ -25 / -30)

This should probably stand up capitals like nirv/pyth. Doesn`t do so well vs missiles. But it should stand up to something. Currently pretty much anything is fine to take down the terran SB`s.

Scorpion take two:
Again, the current awesomeness of this ship is astounding ...
My suggestion is a smaller-build rate, but a strafez killer.

Weapon: total 14k
Energy 1750 [vs 1000]
Kinetic 1750 [vs 1000]
Missile 10500 [vs 6000]

Hull 50000 [similar hull:pr as now]
Range 7 still
Pr 35606 [dropped down from 73606, but you`re getting a lot more bang for your buck]

Build rate of 1 still

mods unchanged at 20/-60/40/20

me been around for years notes that the higher ups MAINLY play as NON terrans.....hence why all other races get improved...oh

I kind of object a little to the assumption that I suggested these changes because I don`t know how to play terran ...

I have extensive experience with any race other than collective ...

These are based on my overall viewpoint.

I do take the point that better SB`s might make terrans own too much though.

Here we see an example of another unfortunate side effect of rebalancing some ships: people decide they want other things changed too! Terran have been considered always and forever to be the most balanced race, I`m pretty sure I`ve even seen some of you who are for this proposed starbase change say so. Just because something changes doesn`t mean everything else has to change as well. If it ain`t broke, don`t fix it. Terran works fine for people who know how to play terran, and it`s hard for the people that don`t, just like all the other races. I`m terran because I couldn`t play viral well; should I say viral sucks and needs to be fixed? No. Don`t go around trying to make things easier for yourself all the time, if you want that go play UC. We all know that`s its main attraction. If you want a challenge, stay here. If not, go to UC. Don`t hang around here and bother those of us who have spent the time learning to use what we have effectively. Flame on.

Reborn: There is a favorable change. Forget making terran sbs not suck, just make a slightly better build rate so they are more useful as pr climbers. but NOT x10! then enslaving would be useless. maybe +1 to buildrate, just SOMETHING to make terrans sbs seem worth researching :P

Terran starbases, ummmmm ...... been a Terran since started playing GC, never used them for anything but to increase PR (most probably to get out of enslavement). Would be nice if PR of scorpons could be increased 10x or more (cost, materials, etc should be increased correspondingly) or build rate whichever ... well, won`t happen as the saying goes, but just a thought.

i never use the starbases to defend, i find id rather use fodders

the only change i want to terran is emps to have defence (unlikely yes) and a buildrate increase fro garuda

... I am terran and sbs dont need an update, we aready have enough decent ships and they fuffill their purpuse just fine (pr increase), stop complianing when u lose ur clusters when ur sb spam fails

I played Terran a bit once, and noticed how much s hit they were, but whatever gets done someone has to make sure they don`t get so good that ALL NEWBS DO IS SPAM THEM. Collectives main prey in my opinion as playing with them a while is terrans, if you make there range out match say a galleons your collective out there may end up having problems getting through, this is just my thought, don`t kill it.

The changes you`re proposing are improvements and will make the SB`s less useless. The most important thing is the lack of firepower they currently have. They`re just inefficient fodders atm I`m afraid.

Maybe terran is balanced as it is, but virals are a bit overpowered so there needs to be done something.

And with the changed build rates terrans were more hurt than other races.

Arch its nice to think about this, and yes i agree with the mods ... if i felt that tewwans had nothiong to compensate for defects in their starbases

But we do... I also see that you are coming from a Turn based server perspective and not an RT perspective

Large careful capital spams of 1-3 stacks rarely take more than 2 anyway... and we already have F and T Class for Straf Killers

Terrran starbases are long over due for upgrading, they are the worst possible starbases in the game & its sad they actually cost money cause they are so crabpy & worthless.

So I AGREE WITH Archaeoptyrex.... sadly no one cares for terran anymore.
