On the topic of TheBlueKnight`s suspension:

This brings up quite a few debates and raises a few questions which deserve to be brought to the next level of discussion. Rather than stating how they are good and/or bad and that they ought to be diminished/amplified, we should discuss their effect they would have both towards the standard of gameplay and the size of the player base. I think you will find you can rarely increase both. On a side note, I`d like to thank TBK for turning his account into yet another martyr for reform... he has quite a knack for that.

The current topic on everyone`s tongue is, of course, artifacts. Both players and staff admit that the current system is unfair and needs altering, but as Pandy has pointed out, an attempt to diversify the times, did NOT fix it, and was scrapped. So since chopping it up did not work, we have two remaining options; amplify it or diminish it. More artifacts for all, or less artifacts.

I`m sure many of you saw this comming, more artifacts leads to greater happiness for some and greater greif for others, but overal enhances gameplay and adds more pace to the mayhem. Whereas taking out many artifacts will indeed fix the injustice, but will remove a (some would argue) critical piece of the puzzle resulting in fewer players. You would think "more the merrier", but be advised that with many aspects in this game "the rich get richer".

As a work around, TBK was able to access the rare-dig time set for prime time in the orient while he got his sleep in the Americas. His penalty is a forced vacation and a reset of his artifacts. Was he right or wrong? He did use a scripted macro to play the game for him, but in the end he never really came out ahead, merely tied with the advantaged players.

So my point for you, the player, is to decide weather a fix for artifacts and the many other issues in the here and now (miner ships, viral starbases, anything someone wouldn`t like), would only result in greater advantage for some?
