How to get out of debt

I just started to play yesterday and I built some ships to explore for my planets for the third mission but people keep attacking me and i keep losing my planets, which makes me buy more ships. and this has gotten me into debt. I already posted 10000 food to sell on the market but that still wont help me. How can i get out of debt?
