how do I decide what ship ratios I should have? Should I generally have an equal number of big ships and small ships? Is there some website that talks about this (or just some conventional wisdom the reader of this can share)? Thanks!

Normally, you want all ships to be around the same pr, but as you fight higher and higher and turns can be limited, its hard to play at high prs without having huge capital ships or cheap ships on top.

battle calc, upkeep calc, should help give some advice of how to stack the ships and how much they cost per turn of upkeep. Might influence your ship ratios somewhat
