Terran is considered the most balanced race in the game. Tweaking terran ships has an extremely low priority and will not be done (if ever) until we are satisfied with the races in dire need of balancing.

No defense kills the spamability of the brig. You could still spam it if you wanted and probably get decent results, but it won`t be evil epic craziness. Also, it really shouldn`t be able to get that second shot in on the ships that lack no retal (which are the only ships that lacking no defense MATTERS for). The adding of no retal vastly improves the ship for stacking purposes and is countered by adding no defense to keep it from being vastly overpowered.
The R.Snow is being replaced because we have to replace a ship, and the R.Snow is not a terribly useful ship that is not fulfilling a useful role in the collective armada.
